Reno County Fire District 2 is a full time paid urban-rural interfaced fire department protecting an 84 square mile fire district. Fire District 2 protects about 10,000 people residing within the district.
There are two (2) chief officers, six (6) captains, six (6) drivers, and six (6) firefighters. A list of our personnel listed by rank and name can be viewed by going to the personnel page. In addition to the paid personnel, 15 reserve firefighters are on the roster. The reserves receive no compensation other than receiving valuable experience. Fire District 2 provides the reserves with all gear, uniforms, and training.

Services provided by Fire District 2 include:

Fire Protection
Extrication (two sets of Hurst Extrication Tools or Jaws-of-Life are used)
Medical (personnel required to be EMT level or higher)
Hazardous Materials
Search and Rescue

Fire District 2 is dispatched by Hutchinson/Reno County Emergency Communications, a combined 9-1-1 communications center.
