This page was originally "Macs Suck" then it was "Macs Suck? - Another Chapter". Now I'm just calling it the OS Battle! Since this page was first created, I had only used IBM Compatibles. Now I have a Windows 95 machine and a Mac. So far, I must admit that the Mac does much more, easier. Also, it is much faster (PowerPC at 250 MHz with 64MB RAM) especially running OS8!

Since the arrival of my new Mac, I have learned a lot. First, I have learned that Macs and Windows 95 machines are very different. Windows 95 may imitate a Mac, but the new Mac OS8 also imitates some Windows 95 functions. I was greatly impressed to see that OS8 received a facelift. It may seem petty, but sometimes looks DO mean a lot. The contextual menus (control + click) does nearly what the right click in Windows does. The new Finder is MUCH faster than the old one, it also multi tasks extremely well. Since installing OS8, I have rarely crashed. Windows 98 is supposed to be more crash proof than Windows 95, but that's really not saying much. Windows 95 crashes frequently, but so did System 7. OS8 is wonderful, I admit it! I can concentrate on using my applications rather than keeping the operating system going. The installation is simple, a few questions and system checks and it's running. Far less complicated than the twenty Windows 95 installs that I have performed. This was my third Mac OS install, and I have been pleasantly surprised. Every one has installed flawlessly. I really can't say that about Windows 95. Apple did steal some ideas from the success of Windows 95. Besides the items I mentioned, OS8 introduces Assistants, the Apple equivalent of Wizards. They're not perfect, but then again, neither are their counterparts. Many software companies are seeing the Mac market open up again. No, Apple will never overthrow the Microsoft empire. With the introductions of Mac clones that are very reasonably priced (comparable to PC's) and after people use OS8, the gap may close up a little bit. the only thing that I have not been impressed with is the Mac Link Plus (yes, I know it's third party) translations. Hopefully time will fix this.

The day will come when there is only one OS. There will be world peace, no hunger, and the United Federation of Planets will govern the Earth. Yeah, right! I am grateful to live in a time where I have the choice between Mac & Windows. Frankly, I will continue to use both until there is a seamless way to use both of them on one platform. That day WILL come.

I used to be a member and support page for Team Mac Suck. I have since resigned my self as a member.

Team Mac Suck! is a group of individuals who all share the same beliefs... "Macintosh Computers are Worthless, and the people who use them are generally Snobs. Their 'elite' group must be smashed. Dealt with like the worms they are! We simply have something to say and this is our medium."

I welcome any feedback from viewers about this debate and this site, e-mail me if you wish to be heard.
