All Ages Kiss My WAMI
Bassendean Town Hall
Friday 23/7/99
Yay a kerb gig. We had been waiting for a very very long time for this gig and there was nothing that was going to stop us getting there, not even chasing sleeping bags down Bussell highway after they ended up in a creek!! Not to mention the nice boys that stopped to help us, but were disappointed that we didn't need their help. Chivalry is not dead, it just lays dormant!

Bassendean, well we didn't know how to get there and we felt like doing some more travelling so why not stop off in Leeming and pick up our little brother Simon (who is such a girl!). It seems that we weren't the only ones to have location problems. When we did get there it looked a bit like a Rockingham hoedown, with goon bags gallore, but we didn't care we were on the door!! haha

South West Youth Games
Bunbury Recreation Centre
Saturday 5/6/99
This gig saw us scab a lift with Justin and Emily. Poor them they had to put up with our spazzo attempts at humour. Though the trip down proved to be quite rad.

When we finally did arrive (after a momentary stop over at the hockey stadium) we were dumbfounded to discover that kerb would only be playing a 15 minute set (eat your heart out grosvenor 20 minutes of fame - Bunbury is on to you) while the pooey cover band played for 45 minutes. What a crock!!!

No guesses for what songs they played though Chad did manage to reclaim the vocals to UNO. We like it better this way. The boys were plotting an evil take over scheme involving playing for another whole 5 minutes!!!! Did it happen, no one will ever know. Playing to a huge crowd of 3000+ you would think that there would have been quite a BIG mosh(?) pit but it was not to be. A rather smallish crowd (~30) bopped along in front. No offense to anyone but you could have more response out of a retirement home.

After the gig was over we made a small detour to WA's apple capital, Donnybrook (Kim works there you know). When we were finally on the right road we permantly damaged a few eardrums with our own style of car karaoke (Justin's eardrums are still recovering and this is why kerb haven't played for a while!). We even managed to suprise a few with our huge music vocab. Finally a big thankyou to Cam for giving Belinda your cold!

Thursday 20/5/99
Another Thursday gig was upon us and once again we played hooky and skipped work, but not before we went there and had to rub it in!!!! Since we had to leave home early to get to the gig we decided to have macca's for tea or dinner (whatever you want to call it, we don't want a cat fight!). Since we hadn't had macca's in a while we thought that we would be patriotic in dinning at this fine establishment, but we were sadly mistaken. The chips were gross, the burger was soggy and coke sucks!! Not even the seagulls wanted our food.

Anyway, enough about our eating habits! We were there to see kerb but we weren't the only ones. Many other narly nerds ventured down to Scab's to see KERB, t-cells (or drink). As always it didn't take long for the venue to fill. We were glad to see that kerb were up first due to crappy end-of-semester assignments being due the next day (which kinda needed starting).

The guys jumped on stage and strutted their stuff. As per ususal chadlinski opened the set. Followed by a bunch of other bodascious tunes off their album plus UNO. Zoran from gyroscope. was there to cheer the boys on. Chad made a spasticated attempt to wish Zoran a happy birthday but once again Steve over ruled and they wished someone else (not sure who) a happy birthday. SUPRISE SUPRISE the set finished with say a prayer, but not before a heart felt rendition of snack pack, everyones favourite snack.

Everyone at the gig seemed to have fun, there were even a few people dancing who appologise for kicking Zoran in the (chicken) leg, sorry man!!

This was the gig that everyone had been waiting for. It promised to be huge, and it was. We had never seen southside so packed before. We, along with a few rocky rebels arrived early, only to find that we weren't alone in this quest to be early. The youth alive band played first and pumped up the crowd. Kerb graced the stage, after a rather large build up, wearing their cool overalls! In true kerb fashion they opened the set with chadlinski. A blown something or other triggered Steve to commence the "airforce" chant and another crowd surfing competion. The sound problem was rectified in time for the speaker.
Back to kerb......the boys came back on stage, minus the overalls, to complete their set. Once again girls proved to be a favourite, but ordinary day sent us spastic, oh oh spazza matazz! That cool punk circle thing is always fun, ,especially with more than 2 people! Thanks to all those who contributed to the 'circle', there's the challenge to all those in Rockingham. Our new favourite song UNO. closed the set. An encore chant was started but not met! The gig was short but great, and everyone was left feeling more than satisfied with four boys from perth.

Thursday .....still 6/5/99
No more playing hooky from school, now we are playing hooky from work. This well anticipated pub gig had a cosy atmosphere. Unlike the pevious, well documented, gigs to date they 'gentlemen' opened with the eagerly anticipated UNO. It was cool, we like it ALOT!!!!! This song has the lot.....terrific tempo changes, rad riffs, brilliant bass lines, damaging drums and very narly whingey, whiney vocals. All in all, we diggit! Neil Finn also diggsit. All the classic kerb tunes were played but institution was gratefully appreciated buy us 'free-t=shirt-wearing-in-it-for-the-money-punters'. Even a few hiccups couldn't ruin this gig! Also, a big HI to Tim from Malachi.

Thursday .....again 6/5/99
This gig was a lunch/happy time gig and it seemed as if the whole school had turned out for hungry HJ homeboys. We felt at home surrounded by all of Chris Virgil's kerb stickers. Naughty boy! chadisco opened the set, yet again, and the even crazier kids got into it straight away. This happytime gig was sooo narly dudes that even the hippy-hooky-playing cameramen had to have a boogie. It was smooth sailing until the word fight entered the high school vocabularly. However, the fight fizzled out and kerb ruled supreme once again.
great gig, great sound, great crowd, great band

Armadale SHS.

Thursday 6/5/99
Once again we got to skip shool to go to school, so really we weren't 'playing hooky!'
This was a recess gig for the Armadillians and heaps of crazy kids turned up to witness the "phenomenom" that is kerb. The set opened, once again, with chadislocation and the kids seemed to enjoy it, even those watching via satellite in Russia. One lucky punter scored for himself a free CD due to his 'spray on black jean' dancing in say a prayer.
Yay to Jason the sound guy! A big heloo to the Chad-autograph seeking-Ryan Clark lovers. Now to HJ's for reload for the next high energy "high school for hookies" gig.

Today we had to skip "year 10" so that we could go to school, not just any school but a swish little private school!! The reception at this gig was pretty bad, which is a shame since the guys were really looking forward to the gig. Steve had only stepped off the plane from the "hot wheels vending machine" ridden Queensland hours earlier and was ready and waiting to tackle the imperial forces. It was lucky the boys were in good spirits for the crowd was anything but responsive. Although a request for Korn got caught in Steve's teeth.

On a more positive note the sound was pretty good, thanks Jason! Thanks boys for the free merchandise.

Nollamarra Youth Group.
Nollamarra (near Tuart Hill).
Saturday 17/4/99
They played a new song!!!!!!!! that was really rad, which Chad wrote (the lyrics) and sung. We reckon that this song is currently running hot for our favourite. new stuff new stuff new stuff, bring it on!!!
it was great to see them after a month long wait and Steve has a new skateboard. yay. 3 girls who will remain nameless, (lisa) had the punk circle thing happening..
bye for now.

YAC IT UP!

adeui..till the very next day! howdy again.
Daytime kerb gig tis a rare but fine occassion.
A free gig is always a good gig and this was no exception!!!!! kids had gathered from all around the place to share in this joyous exhibition of fine Perth talent.
Out of Luck, were first up and for kids of their age (16 &17) they sure make a pretty damn good noise. And have Justin's endorsement. Ballpoint continued the punk thingy with finesse and the more we see em the better they get!

KERB. it was clear to see that these four lads not from this part of town were the main attraction of the afternoon's precedings. A hefty crowd had gathered to show support, sing dance and be merry!
Steve had a cold but that didn't bother anybody, they were all tooo excited to be there. The sound was bass-y, it was J's day! ("hauzzah for bass geetar!" we heard him think). Apart from flying shoes, which rebound off shoulders (and drum kits surprisingly) to hit friend's in the head; drink bottles, hats and sweaty bodies there wasn't much else in the sky (including clouds!). All of these flying debris caused the boys to have a mental spasm during the last song of the day, say a prayer. Till next time refuse the mark.

FORRESTFIELD YOUTH GROUP GIG.
Forrestfield Community Church
Saturday 20/3/99
Our second kerb gig for the week. but surely not the last...hehehe
We dragged michelle along after saying "yeah we'll go and see selfless after we see kerb" BUT that didnt happen, did it?!!!. Malachi were the support for the evening. these lads had a few of their pals in the crowd and inticed the rest of the gathering with toys. great to see they had a good time!

kerb. kerb. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
The boys should've felt like regular film stars with all the media equipment flashing around on this finely mellow night. BUt being the professionals that they are, they went on with the show!
The sound was by far superior to all previous youth group gigs we have had the pleasure of attending. The boys seemed to sense this and it reflected in their performance. THe crowd were fantastic!!! those kids went off!!! and be proud forrestfieldians, they showed us a thing or two!!! Till our ears are graced with the sounds of kerb we shall say adeui.

"Outside In" SURF VIDEO RELEASE. director:RICK R.
Lookout.
Thursday 18/3/99
The lookout was our destination for this Thursday night gig. Even though, it was only a $5 entry, it cost us $40 coz we had to get the night off work!! ("slackers"-from Jem!)....It was great to see such a rad turnout for the film premiere.

congrats to Rick for making such a specky surf vid!

THe set list goes as follows Linski, I Could Marry Her, Ordinary Day, Girls, Institute, Down South, La La Land, Happy Birthday, Say A Prayer. ( Thanks Adam!!).
The laddies appeared to really enjoy tonight and its one of their faves. The sound was good, the crowd was good (there was people dancing! about 15! yay!!) and they were GReaT. it was just an excellent gig and great to see kerb again!

SLINGSHOT 99,
kelmscott aquatic centre. kelmscott
Friday 5/3/99
We trekked on down to kelmscott pools on friday for the slingshot gig. there was full of swimmy stuff and specky skate demos and lots of chad loving kiddies. yay. blue tops rok.
there was a support band called Folderol who were a cover band. we were trying to name a few but cant be bothered. we've got bigger fish to fry.kerb were up next.
The crowd was really cool and gave the lads a warm welcome. however, the sound was bad qualtiy whilst recording on the vid cam. Until we moved round to the side of the stage, where it was fine and dandy.
played a lot of the songs of their album, but the set was pretty short. they had a momentary pause where steve had a quiet chat with the kiddies. finished with say a prayer. the end.

INDI-BURBS,
mgms tavern. Warwick
Saturday 13/2/99
IT was valentine's eve and we had nothing better to do than trek on up to Warick and see some local bands. It broke our heart to leave Rockingham but we were sure we could manage for one evening.

When we arrived Prankwagon were already playing so we joined the small gathering of onlookers. hmmm. We were throughly impressed with them as their sound seems to have improved since the last time we saw them. The turn out could have been better and it must have been disheartening to not have anyone clap. Steve, being the Kerb lead singer, was up to his usual attention-grabbing tricks. Miss Winfield says 'sit down Steven'. The boys had a few sound problems but they were still "rad".

The unphotographed Gyroscope sunday were up next. Being the first time we had seen this band we had no idea what to expect. Their Me first and the Gimme Gimme's cover of Me and Juilio Down by the Schoolyard was unexpected and emmensely enjoyed. The rest of the songs were scrumdidlieumpsious. Their flipping friend added some light entertainment and everyone seemed to enjoy the music. Well done boys.

Mike, from LC7, wanted to leave early, for reasons beyond his control, so Jus and Mike had a yak and said 'hey why not tag team', (don't go getting the wrong idea here!) and so it was to be.
First up was the kerb boys and the set started with chadlinksi, always a good song to open on. Say a prayer, usually heard at the end of the set, was a suprise second slot. Steve once said 'I could marry her' to Michelle, so they did.

Love Camp 7 played a few songs, but we don't know the titles so if you love LC7 check out their webpage!
Kerb were up again and started round two with ordinary, also known as the coffee song. Our favourite song 'girls' was next and we did enjoy it. Chad DOESN'T need to lift weights. Some new stuff was played in the form of 'the song formally known as the new god song'. Someone please enlighten us.

Once again it was time for Love Camp 7 to grace the stage and they played a few songs, but they lasted a long time. LC7 were delighted by the flash of the camera, so much so that Chris, the sexy drummer dropped his drumstick. Check out the photo's on our pics page.

The lads were back with a birthday wish for mike, we all knew that it wasn't his birthday but kerb do do a good happy birthday wish. If anyone ever has a birthday at their gigs let them know. Down south, with Steve on taking over somevocal duties, followed the hippee song La La Land.

Before Love Camp 7 made another appearance Kerb played Will to Live. Kerb played some Metallica yobbie bits, we suggest the boys stick to what they know.

Since 'silly bits were the go' Love Camp 7 took full advantage of it. Next up were old favourites butter menthols who made a guest appearance before Institution. After much debate Society Parade closed the evening.

a good time was had by all and the change over method was grand.

PUNK-O-RAMA,
newport. Freo
Sunday 7/2/99
We mosey-ed on down to the newport, whilst our media-consultant/ photographer was at Manning Park playing the bagpipes.  The line up included... ballpoint, billings method, pc thug, pailface, boredumb, KERB, love camp 7, and the all conquering no wonder.  Kerb were a tad late due to acting like chicks with their petrol consumption (Jason!),  and showing a bit  of leg whilst waiting for a lift (Steve) Hence the delay. Thank god Chad and Justin turned up on time.

Now for the music side of the event... Unfortunately due to their lateness they were resticted to a 15 minute set. Never fear they were able to entaintain the  crowd with favourites including....
                                    chadLInski
                                    Girls
say a prayer (nice shirt chad)
                                    I could marry her
                                    the god new song
                                    ordinary day (the coffee song)
Without tracey (beautiful and talented) rad sound chick, the sound quality wasnt as what we've come to expect from the boys. ( a bit like that ash gig, but we wont go into that!).
With a little interuption from Jesse, coz he need to move steve's car, the set drew near to closing.

due to the small stage they could not show off much for the camera. but the fotos turned out not toooo badly, go and see 'em....  here .

the end for now...

Wait til saturday 13th February 1999.
