| : Shortly after WW II ended in Europe. The Armed Forces Radio Net Work set up a raido station in Munich-Stuttgart. The Army Airforce used the Munich's radio staions signal to home in on for landing in Munich. Unfortunatley Both the Munich and the Stuttgart transmiters used the same freqeuncey and the same program material. Every now and then one of he planes would home in on the Stuttgart frequency and have to change course to land at the Munich airfield. Kind of embarassing for the pilot. If you all can remmber "The Munich Morning Report",6 AM. "Bouncing In Bavaria", 12:00 PM. Theme song, Woody Hermans, "Red Top"and the famous "Midnight In Munich." with Stu Phillips as the D.J. The theme for the record show....Charley Barnetts "Sky Liner." |

| You got it. That's me in May 1945 and July 1970. The place is the Monestary of St Florian. Located about 20 kilometers from Linz, Austria. In the 1945 picture, not too visible, I have a 5 meter German Transceiver. I had two of them. And they both worked well for short distances. |
