Day of Prayer for Peace
Lutheran Peace Fellowship

The Day of Prayer for Peace is observed by people of many faiths. Encourage your congregation to participate [and pass this on to your pastor...]This worldwide event has produced a wealth of peace and justice resources which can be used on Sept 21, and other times throughout the year.. See the links below.
The International Day of Peace (on September 21 since 2004) established in 1981 by the United Nations and is being observed by churches around the world through a Day of Prayer for Peace. This global event offers an opportunity for faith communities in all places to pray, vigil, and act together to nurture lasting peace in the hearts of people, their families, communities and societies. The day witnesses to the power of prayer and other spiritual practices in promoting peace, energizing peacemakers, raising public awareness and preventing violent conflict. It is also a day to lift up and encourage support for all people who are working together for a peaceful world. Let us witness for peace, encourage our own peacemaking, and walk in solidarity with peacemakers. The following resources are available online to help you plan your own vigil and day of prayer for peace on September 21, and discussions and forums in the weeks after:
