BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Jerry R. Potts has been engaged in patent, trademark, copyright
and related licensing and litigation practice since 1975. He has
particularly specialized in patenting high technology products and
processes in the areas of computer hardware and software,
semiconductor technology, printed circuit board assembly and manufacture,
electrical and electronics circuits, liquid crystal display technology,
optical communications, and other diverse mechanical, chemical and
electrical arts.
Mr. Potts attended California State University at Long Beach in
California, where he received a B.S. degree in General Engineering and
a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Potts continued his
education and received a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern
University in Los Angeles, California. While attending graduate and
law school, Mr. Potts worked as a research and development engineer
for high technology companies such as Control Data Corporation and
Xerox Corporation. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Potts was
selected by Xerox Corporation to participate in a year of social leave at
the Legal Aid Foundation of Long Beach where he provided legal
services to the aged and poor.
Mr. Potts has been register to practice before the United States
Patent Trademark Office since 1973 and is also admitted to the
California State bar, and several Federal District Courts as well as the
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Potts is a member of the Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers as well as a member of the
Intellectual Property Law Section of the California State Bar.
