Moonlight And Cherry Blossoms

A NIT (Nekomi Institute of Technology) student named Keiichi is on house-sitting-duty for the older students of the dorm. Since he's hungry he tries in vain to have some food delivered to him. Irritated, he dials a number at random and is surprised to hear that he's reached "The Relief Goddess Office." He's even more surprised when, moments later, Belldandy magically appears through a mirror on the wall, telling him that she'll grant him a single wish. After thinking a bit, he wishes for someone like her to stay with him forever. Belldandy interprets this as Keiichi wanting her to stay with him forever. After she has granted Keiichi his wish, Keiichi's sempai (senior students) arrive, and they are thrown out of the student dorm - no females are allowed.
Keiichi and Belldandy go apartment hunting without any luck, and end up seeking cover from the heavy rain in an old, deserted temple. Belldandy who is exhausted, faints. She had drained her powers saving her and Keiichi from a car hitting them. After Keiichi finishes searching through all his stuff for something to dry her with (she's soaked from the rain), he gives up and covers her with the only blanket he has. Since he hasn't got anything to dry himself with, or any more blankets, he passes out.

When Belldandy wakes the next morning, she is shocked to see Keiichi lying ill on the floor. She begins crying, and blames herself. Using her powers , she heals Keiichi and walks outside. There, calling on the temple's memories, she restores the temple to its original, beautiful splendor. Later, when Keiichi awakes, Belldandy tells him they've received permission to live there and wasting no time, they get to work on furnishing the temple. Mean while spending a lot of money in the process. Keiichi becomes worried about how much money they've got left, but Belldandy tells him that the problem will soon be solved.

Belldandy gets up to make some tea and Keiichi follows to help. He slips on an empty can, and they fall in the classic love story position. Just when they're about to share their first kiss, Megumi enters (Keiichi's younger sister).

Megumi asks to stay with them for a some time while she's apartment hunting, and Keiichi reluctantly lets her. She then hands him an envelope containing 40,000 Yen - the money that was suppose to be used while she was apartment hunting, but since she will be staying at the temple, she won't need it. Soon Keiichi's sempai show up to throw a party in celebration of Keiichi and Belldandy's new place. Keiichi then later leaves to relax a bit from the party (which is still going strong inside!), Belldandy comes out to join him. Sitting there in the moonlight, they enjoy each other's company while the air is filled with cherry blossoms.

Midsummer Night's Dream

It's now summer, and five months have passed since Belldandy came to be with Keiichi. Not surprisingly, Megumi is still staying with them. "I like Belldandy's cooking," she says. Belldandy is happy to hear this, but Keiichi is less than thrilled, he wants some time to be alone with Belldandy.
Megumi later asks Keiichi what he and Belldandy have been doing this summer. Keiichi answers saying They've been at home. Megumi doesn't like the answer, and tells them she's been to the beach twice during the summer . Belldandy who has never been to the beach, would very much like to go. Keiichi who can not swim agrees, because of his desire to be close to Belldandy Before leaving for the beach, Belldandy goes shopping. Megumi also wanders off. While they're gone, Keiichi opens a mysterious packet that arrived for him in the mail that morning. It contains a video tape entitled Sexy Dynamite Part 2.

Keiichi puts the tape into the VCR, and is treated to the view of a woman's sexy body. He's even more surprised when she crawls out of the TV and introduces herself as Urd, Belldandy's older sister. She tells him he has to take advantage of the trip to the beach get closer to Belldandy. The beach is the perfect place for those "body attacks," she tells him, before leaving (She is a little angry, since she believes Keiichi is a sissy when it comes to seducing women).

Keiichi is waiting for Belldandy to come back from changing into her bathing suit, when Urd suddenly appears from behind him. She asks what Keiichi what he intends to do. "Umm, I was thinking about holding her hand." he answers. "That won't do!" Urd exclaims, and hands Keiichi a small bottle of her Special Suntan Lotion, it will make the person it's rubbed on "hot."

Belldandy returns, and Keiichi nervously asks her if he can lotion her body. Belldandy agrees and lies down. Just as Keiichi is about to apply the lotion. Sayoko, the official NIT Babe, appears from behind, to say hello. Keiichi is startled and drops the bottle of suntan lotion, Urd's first plan is a disaster.

Belldandy and Keiichi are alone in a boat (it's Urd's second plan). When Belldandy tries to walk over to Keiichi's side, she falls, and Keiichi tries to save her. They fall down in the boat, next to each other. Their first kiss is again interrupted, as Sayoko and her fan club accidentally run them down with their cruiser. Keiichi can't swim, falls overboard, but is saved by Belldandy.

Keiichi is later lying unconscious in bed, with Belldandy next to him, blaming herself and crying. Suddenly, Keiichi wakes up and tells her it's okay, she shouldn't blame herself, but Belldandy runs away, crying. Urd appears, and tells Keiichi that it is his fault for not giving Belldandy enough of his love. She then hands him another potion, which makes his courage grow a 100 times and have him fall in love with the first girl he sets his eyes on. Keiichi drinks the potion, and then collapses.

Urd's plan is once again messed up as Sayoko enters the room. She has come apologize, for almost running them down with her cruiser. Because of Urd's potion, Keiichi tells Sayoko he loves her, and that it's her he wants, not Belldandy. Unfortunately, Belldandy arrives just as Keiichi says it's Sayoko he loves.

Belldandy begins to cry, and tells Keiichi she will go back to heaven if that's what he wants. It's too much for Keiichi, as he screams out in pain while staggering down to the beach. Belldandy who is concerned, follows him and tries to help him. The empty bottle containing Urd's potion, falls from Keiichi's hand. Belldandy immediately knows this is Urd's doing and calls for her. Urd then materializes and tells her the potion's effect is irreversible. Belldandy begins to cry and says she will give up all her powers as a goddess in order to have Keiichi back, and then kisses him

To Belldandy's surprise Keiichi awakens and has returned to normal! They fall into each other's embrace and look out over the moonlit sea. Urd watches them and departs felling her work here is done. However, she's blasted back to the earth, with the message that she is not allowed to return to heaven for sometime because of her tempering of Keiichi's life. She will have to stay with Belldandy, Keiichi and Megumi.

Burning Hearts On The Road

Skuld chasing a bug (a kind of rabbit with spider legs) in the Yggdrasil system. She finally hits it, but just to discover that there are several more on the run. On Earth, Keiichi is chosen to represent the NIT auto-club in an intercollegiate drag race. He is left alone to piece together his motorbike.
Belldandy is making a cake in the kitchen and is singing (the now famous "Egg-san song"). Urd is bored and offers her help to Belldandy. Urd who is not patient enough, she tries to use her powers and blows up the bowl of cream she was making. She claims that she is not made for such simple tasks and goes to offer help to Keiichi. She then accidentally blows up the engine he was working on. Discouraged, Keiichi goes to take a nice hot bath. Skuld then materializes from the water in Keiichi's tub. Surprised , Skuld knocks him out with her debugging hammer and fleas screaming.

Everybody is sitting at the table eating Belldandy's cake. Skuld apologizes to Keiichi and formal introductions are made. Skuld is very unhappy, she believes Keiichi is a little too friendly with her sister and she cannot understand why she wants to be with Keiichi. With both her sisters being on Earth, Skuld feels alone in Heaven. Belldandy explains that she is not staying because of the contract and that she wants to stay with Keiichi as long as he wants her.

Tamiya later comes to see how Keiichi's work on the engine is coming along. He brings a new twin-engine for Keiichi, who is unhappy since the first engine is almost finished and that a twin-engine will be too unstable to improve the performance of the bike. Aoshima (who started a rival racing club at Nekomi) arrives also to boast and make fun of his competitor and also tries to woe Belldandy. A mysterious agreement between him and the sempai is mentioned.

Skuld is intrigued by Keiichi's designs, but finds a lot of flaws in it. She can't resist the temptation to fix them. She incorporates the new twin-engine and modify the frame too. With the new designs, Keiichi and Megumi can finally finish assembling the bike. Skuld then asks Keiichi how he feels about Belldandy, he answers that he has never been happier.

Aoshima is impressed by Keiichi's work on his bike when he see it at the race. We finally learn that Keiichi's sempai and Aoshima agreed that if Aoshima won the race, Belldandy would become a member of his racing club. Keiichi is angry at the agreement but Belldandy is confident that they won't lose. Skuld realizes that if Keiichi loses, Belldandy might come back to Heaven with her, so Skuld enters the tent where the bikes are.

Keiichi wins the first race, but he complains about the bike vibrating. The team decides to make some last minute changes to the bike. Aoshima Racing Team improves their score with the best time of the race so far. They probably made some changes on their engine or was it Skuld?. After few more races, Keiichi is still doing well, but bike's vibrating has not stopped. Aoshima comes again to boast, their driver is the best, he says, and Keiichi should surrender now. Belldandy then replies "The Goddess of Victory does not look kindly on people like you, who can only see a duel with a winner and a loser. She smiles upon those who always have the burning desire within them." If Keiichi keeps such a burning desire, he will succeed. Keiichi adds that after all, he has already three goddesses on his side! Belldandy kisses his helmet "for luck she tells him" and Keiichi is off for the final race. Keiichi's bike is still vibrating, but Aoshima bike's engine fails and Keiichi wins!

After the race, Belldandy see a beautiful ring in a jeweler booth and Keiichi wants to offer it to her, but he forgot his money in his coat. Urd and Skuld find it pathetic that he could not even buy her a gift. Belldandy says it's OK, but Keiichi fells bad about it. Skuld then sticks out her tongue at Keiichi and tells him that she still hates him.

Evergreen Holy Night

Keiichi having a dream about giving Belldandy a ring. As a pair of wings appear on her back she apologizes as she returns to Heaven.
Keiichi wakes up screaming and Belldandy is by his side. When she asks what's wrong he replies that it's nothing. Looking worried, Belldandy leaves to fetch Keiichi a glass of water.

The next morning. snow has covered the temple and its surroundings during the night, and Skuld and Urd do not neglect the chance to have a snow fight. Skuld has made a small snowball-firing robot while Urd uses her magic to create a huge snowman. And Belldandy is pleased with the snow.

However they discover that only the temple and its surroundings are covered by snow! Keiichi and Skuld look at Urd and asking her if she's responsible. Urd denies is and Skuld runs off to make a machine to clear the snow.

Keiichi climbs up on the temple's roof to shovel away the snow to prevent the roof from collapsing under the extra weight. Belldandy stands below watching him, telling him to be careful. However, something in the snow makes Keiichi lose his balance and he falls off the roof. Belldandy uses her powers to save him from a nasty fall. Keiichi thanks her, but Urd and Skuld scold him for being so careless. He tells then that it wasn't his fault, there was "something strange in the snow." This causes the gang to look around to see what caused Keiichi to fall off the roof, and Skuld sees one of the bugs hopping around in the snow. She then "debugs" the problem with her mallet. The snow then disappears, the snow was just a result of a bug in the Yggdrasil system!

Inside, all sorts of weird things start to happen. Keiichi's coffee begins to boil in the cup, then the table disappears. And suddenly Keiichi seems to be a gigantic magnet, as all sorts of cutlery and KNIVES are attracted to him.
Skuld puts on a pair of debugging glasses and discovers a "bug portal". She produces a modified rice-cooker and sucks several bugs into it.

The phone rings and Belldandy answers it. Surprised, she hears the voice of Kami-sama (God). He tells her that she has to go back to Heaven and that she has three days to fix things before she leaves. Belldandy sadly explains things to Keiichi and apologizes. He then asks if she can come back after she's done whatever it is Kami-sama wants her to do. Belldandy replays with an uncertain yes.

At school, people are wondering whether Belldandy broke up with Keiichi since he's alone in class. Keiichi misses her not being by his side, and asks to borrow her eraser, only to remember she's not there. Sayoko comes late to class and sits down next to Keiichi, trying to win him over as usual.

Meanwhile, Belldandy goes to school to give Keiichi some tea. They see each other , but when Keiichi runs towards Belldandy one of the windows explodes, showering him with shards of glass. Sayoko reaches Keiichi first and before he can complain about the quality of the building. meanwhile, Belldandy has vanished.

When Keiichi is in the cafeteria, Belldandy tries to approach him but one of the vending machines near her explodes and she runs off. Megumi eats lunch with her brother and asks about Belldandy. Keiichi tells her that Belldandy will have to go back to her own country, and Megumi points out that a long distant relationship will not work. She then suggests he should buy a present for Belldandy, the ring that she wanted.

Keiichi soon asks Tamiya for a job and Hasegawa asks why he needs the money. He gets a bit angry, but calms down and asks Hasegawa to deliver a message to Belldandy for him. The message says that Belldandy will have to go home buy herself because he is busy

Belldandy is in the ladies room and prepares to go home through the mirror when Sayoko comes in. With her hand Caught in the mirror,she pretends to clean it with her sleeve. Sayoko tells her that "If you don't come back for him, I'll take him away." Sayoko is also upset that she won't be able to compete with Belldandy since she is going away.

When Belldandy comes home, Keiichi, Urd and Skuld are standing by the cherry tree which appears to be dying and looks up in the air. Skuld tells her sister that it's the tree that's drawing the bugs into the world and Belldandy begins to panic. Belldandy has some kind of traumatic experience linked to this tree, but it's not clear what it is. She begins to cry and apologizes. Keiichi walks towards her to have her explain what's going on. He then asks "how can I help if all you do is apologize?" and with each step he takes, a new part of the temple is falls off. Belldandy finally runs into the temple.

For The Love Of Goddess

Belldandy is being called back to heaven on Christmas day (?). She is horrified at the withered cherry tree.
Keiichi is depressed that Belldandy is being recalled and he goes to Belldandy's room but Skuld stops him from going in, telling him that he should realize the consequence of being in this close to Belldandy. Urd joins in and tells Keiichi to hold back. Keiichi goes leaves but finally decides that he needs to talk to Belldandy. He heads back to her room, standing outside the door, Belldandy wants to let him in. He tells Belldandy not to open the door and not to come closer. He then apologizes for earlier asking Belldandy to answer the mystery of the cherry tree. He then leaves for the part-time jobs that his sempai have found for him. Belldandy sheds a few tears.

Keiichi has been working a lot of odd jobs to buy Belldandy's gift for Xmas. He sees a beautiful ring in a jewelry shop window and remembers the time when he did not have money to buy Belldandy the ring she liked. Despite the price tag of 58000 yen he breaks down and gets it for Belldandy. Meanwhile, Belldandy hard at work knitting a sweater for Keiichi as a parting gift. Skuld is happy that Belldandy is returning to heaven. Urd talks Skuld into working out something that will stop the cherry tree from releasing more bugs and also break bond between Belldandy and Keiichi that causes more bugs to appear when they get close. She said that it was for the good of Belldandy. Skuld works away in front of a computer with lots of ice cream nearby. Belldandy walks in, and they scramble to turn the computer off. Urd nor Skuld wants Belldandy to know what they are up to. Skuld turns off the monitor. When Belldandy leaves, Skuld begins to cry and tells Urd that she accidentally shut the computer off instead and that she lost all the work she had done.

Two days have passed and Belldandy marks the day of departure on a calendar. Keiichi is extremely tired and calls to tell Belldandy not to wait for him. Belldandy is sad after hanging up the phone. She stays up waiting for Keiichi to come home anyway. Belldandy is not herself, she doesn't hear the whistling of the tea kettle when it boils. Keiichi eventually comes home really late and falls asleep at the entrance hallway. Urd uses her powers to put him into bed and lights up some incense so he will have a good rest . Keiichi begins to dream about all the good times he had with Belldandy, but he also keeps remembering the times he does not keep a promise to Belldandy, especially not having money to buy the ring. Next morning, he leaves early and leaves Belldandy a note asking her to be sure to wait for him before she goes back to heaven. Skuld has found a way to deal with the bug problem so she and Urd start working in the courtyard. Skuld starts drawing an elaborate figure on the ground, and Urd cites some incantation that spreads a bunch of pebbles in a circle.

Belldandy starts erasing all the evidence of her in the house. She wipes out letter, pictures, toys, everything. She looks at a photograph which has pictures of her and Keiichi at the beach, and the rest of the gang after the cycle race, etc. The memories bring tears to her eyes, but she erases her image anyway. She wraps up the sweater she made to Keiichi and puts it on his desk, and Kami-sama if just this one thing she may leave for Keiichi. With that done, Belldandy changes back into her goddess clothing. She walks out to the courtyard and recognizes what Urd and Skuld were doing. She tells them not to do it for because Kami-sama would for sure punish them.

Keiichi is running out of time, he rushes to the store, buys the ring, and makes it home just as the gate to heaven opens up He runs to the courtyard just as Belldandy starts to leave for Heaven. He struggles to reach Belldandy, telling her that even though she can't stay with him, he remembers his promise to get her a ring. The force field generated by the gate makes it impossible for him to reach Belldandy. Yet he tries again. Belldandy is telling him to stop because she doesn't want to see him hurt. The diagram drawn by Skuld is finished, and Urd activates the spell. There is a blinding Flash of light and an explosion.

Urd is lying on the ground and soon recovers. Skuld is dazed and confused, uttering something about ice cream. Belldandy rushes over to Keiichi, who is unconscious. Urd begins to slap Skuld around to wake her up. Keiichi appears to be dead, and Belldandy begins to cry. Skuld asks Urd if Keiichi is dead, and Urd replays with a no, but Keiichi is fading fast and needs help to bring his consciousness back. Belldandy to go into Keiichi's mind and bring him back. Belldandy touches her forehead to Keiichi's and starts a journey down memory lane.

One day when Keiichi was little, he saw a light coming down on a nearby hill. He runs to the hill and into the light. Keiichi felt it to be warm and soft. Little Bell-chan is there, standing underneath the cherry tree . She came to visit earth and when she she Keiichi she asks him to be her friend. They spent the next week playing together. Bell-chan likes some pretty rings at a vending cart selling toys, but Keiichi does not have enough money to buy one for her. He latter asks Bell-chan to promise to meet him the next day, and they promise by hooking their little pinkies.

Little Bell-chan does not know that she is not old enough to make the promise, and Kami-sama gets really mad at her. She has to erase Keiichi's memory of her visit or be put to death . the next day Keiichi is disappointed that Bell-chan does not show up at the meeting spot and runs to where they first meet. He finds Bell-chan crying at the cherry tree. Bell-chan tells him that she needs to erase his memory, and Keiichi tells her to go ahead. Bell-chan generates a ball of light and touches it to Keiichi's forehead, erasing his memory of her, but promises herself that one day she will return.

As the flash-back sequence ends, we see Belldandy's image fading away while Belldandy sadly tells Keiichi that she has kept her promise and has returned to his side, but she will need to erase the memory of her from his mind again.

Keiichi soon comes out of it,opens his eyes and sees Belldandy. He asks about the her being recalled, and Belldandy replies that she needs to ask Kami-sama about what to do next. A lightning bolt strikes next to them, bringing a plaque with Kami-sama's message. Urd goes to read it: "The leak of bugs to the human world is stopped, and 1st level, 2nd category goddess Belldandy can stay on earth". Belldandy hugs Keiichi and starts crying in joy. Urd sees that there is more message.... "2nd level 2nd category goddess Urd uses a spell without permission and is punished to stay on earth another 30 days" "Skuld's training is to continue on earth, and she may not return to Heaven until she has taken care of all the bugs that have leaked out".

Keiichi gives Belldandy the ring.... At night, Urd's magic creates Christmas lights on the cherry tree.....
