Bernie loved children and they loved him. Children of all ages continued to call him "Uncle" even after they themselves became parents and grandparents. Some little ones had trouble saying his name so he was also known as "Uncle Boinie". He loved every minute of being everyone's uncle and they responded to him with the love only a child can give. They were all his little "miracles".
