This page is dedicated to the "Dean", not that he's racing any more but because he's done so much for the GRP Racing Team.
Besides rebuilding the motors, tuning them, getting the suspension right, repairing bodywork, spray painting the cars, pulling his hair out, timing us and generally doing everything else, he has found time to run his business. (have to do something about that..!!.lol..cant have that..no sirree..)and keep his family feed and happy.
Dean would be the most "in demand" person on the Team.
Although he originally started the Team, his driving efforts had to
be put on the backburner.
As with anyone starting off their own business, money matters are the most demanding of all.
No work, No money, No money, No play..!!
So it was with regret that Dean had to back off from racing and concerntrate on his bisiness. He still played an important part in the Team, being the mechanic, rebuilding our motors and general repairs.
1998 saw the demise of Doug's car, (through him slam dunking a wall), allowing Dean more time to spend on Jason's car.
The results being that Jason was able to give the front runners a good run for their money.
This year, it was hoped that we could get him back in the saddle again, but thats not likely to be. With Jason now entering the Sports Sedans, Dean now has to learn how to get the most out of a 1600cc motor. Not the 1200cc motor that he's used to working with.!!
The Daddo has a completely different setup to the Gemini class.
A lot more power, different suspension, driveline and rules..
So it looks as though he will be upto his arm pits in race cars again this year..
But we all know Dean,
if anyone can do it,
he can..and will..!!

Dean's character is that of a quite, thinking, "bean pole"..
(He stands about 6 foot+)..
"Quite" in that he does not say much unless asked..or drunk..then you can't shut him up..lol..
He's always "Thinking" about how to overcome problems..especially if it's a mechanical..and to do with race cars..!!
He is very proffesional in his work, everything has to be right and in it's place..many's the time I've got an ear full for not returning spanners back from where they came..lol
