Kevin Sorbo first had dreams of acting at age eleven, when he saw a high-school production of Oklahoma! This sounds a lot like the way most young children get started on their everchanging "when I grow up" goals, but for Sorbo it was different, because in his case, the dream stuck. In fact, he left college one semester short of a degree in marketing and advertising to follow the dream, and he soon joined up with a theater group in Dallas. Not long after getting a walk-on part in an episode of Dallas, he followed a girlfriend to Europe, and shortly after arriving there, he broke into modeling. He soon broadened his scope to star in over 150 American and European commercials for many high-powered brand labels.
Eventually he returned to the States, settling in L.A. in 1986. He auditioned for many high-profile roles, such as Fox Mulder on the X-Files, and he was second only to Dean Cain for the title role in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Then, his big break on the small screen arrived, when he auditioned and snagged the lead role in a series of TV movies based on the myth of Hercules. The TV films were popular with viewers, and soon after, the TV series which he is best known for, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys was born. This series flew to the top of the syndicated drama heap, and he was seen by viewers across the country. While working on Hercules, he has also been seen on the big screen in Kull The Conqueror, and there are plans in the works for his next big screen film.
