A dark sidewalk, one dim-lit street light and one young woman walking up the dark sidewalk. Fog starts to sift and cloud around. Shadows of bats can be seen, they swoop low and brustle the woman's hair, she screams and shakes them out of her short brown hair. "Ah darkness the perfect cloak for my evil. Ideal conditions for producing fear. Human blood always tastes better with a dash of fear in it....."
The woman stops walking and looks behind her. "What is it? A carriage?" She asks herself. The ancient wooden carriage doesn't seem to be pulled by any horse or steed; it pulls up beside her. Bats fly overhead. The carriage door opens and Myotismon steps out. The woman is bewildered by such a 'man'. His cape flowing behind him, his red mask hiding his face, his slim built body in a fancy suit and his eyes......his eyes...cold and blue like ice water. The woman is speechless, afraid? stunned? awe-struck? They look into each other's eyes. The woman inches her lips to his, she closes her eyes. Myotismon inches closer too and bares his fangs. Myotismon wraps the woman in his cloak and drinks....drinks her innocent blood with a dash of fear in it.
The wagon pulls away and heads straight to it's next mysterious location. Leaving behind, an unconscioud woman with two bite marks on her neck.......
"I hate this fog!" Demidevimon cries 
. In a docked yacht, he paces back and forth impatiently. The fog settles and a wagon is seen through the thick fog. Demidevimon sees it and with a sparkle of glee he flys toward it. Perring into the windows, he sees his boss; Myotismon. Myotismon, without a glance explains to Demidevimon that it's so hard to find good food when your not home. He also explains to Demidevimon that the search for the Eighth Child will not concern him any more. The wagon rises and lands on the yacht, Demidevimon follows it. Slowly, the yacht chugs along....
Thousands of high rises all glisten like the morning dew. Millions of lives bustle, all unaware of their danger. Near a park, in an apartment Tai Kamiya is searching desperately for something. "Come on, where'd I put that thing..." Back from summer camp, Tai realizes how unorganized he was. He searches his bookcase, but it only reveals junk, stuff and more junk and more stuff. With a flurry of paper and binding, every book and stationary collapses on him. Kari peeks in.
"Whatcha doing?" She asks, looking at the pile of books which somewhere underneath it is her big brother Tai. And to the second pile she sees a large orange snout under all the books.
"Looking for my old phone book," Tai explains, his voice muffled under all the books.
"And I'm helping!" Agumon raises his claw. Kari carefully goes into the room, and quietly closes the door.
Outside Tai's room, the TV is on and the announcer is in the middle of the "monster" story. He says no one has any idea where the monsters came from. A picture of Raremon is seen from last night's battle. He also explains that a shocking number of young women are turning up at hospitals weakened with loss of blood. The door bell rings and Tai's mother; Mrs. Kamiya goes to the door. She tells Tai that it's Izzy, he's looking for him. Tai carefully sneaks to the door, the route from his room to the door makes Agumon and him in plain sight with his Mom. Tai slowly creeps over the the door with Agumon close behind him. They both trip in the middle of the hall, Mrs. Kamiya turns to see what happened and she sees Kari there smiling and laughing; as if she fell. Tai and Agumon both safely dart to the door. They go outside and talk with Izzy. Izzy comments that Agumon came back, for he was Koromon the last time they saw each other. Agumon explains that with enough food he digivolved. Tentomon in a green jacket and yellow hat walks up. Both are shocked by his appearance, Tentomon explains he needed a diguise and he put this one up himself. "Wait till Mimi sees you!" Tai exclaims. He turns to Agumon and asks if he has a diguise, Agumon nods.
On their way to the park, Agumon in his black windbreaker with the hood pulled over his head, Tentomon with his green jacket and yellow cap, Tai and Izzy all stop in front of a traffic light. "So Tai, did you find your address book?" Izzy asks.
"Oh...uh....well, Sora was in my class, so I thought we just use her's," Tai stammers.
"Uh-uh, couldn't find it huh?" Izzy says, knowing the truth.
Once the odd group reached the park, they met up with TK, Matt, Tsunomon and Patamon. "Alright listen up everybody, I called you all here because well, there was nothing good on TV," Tai explains.
"Ha Ha, very funny Tai. So where are the others?" Matt says.
"Hey wait! Don't start without me!" Sora says, running towards the group with Biyomon by her side flying. Sora's hand clutches her phone book.
"So where's Mimi?" Tentomon asks.
"She's probably out buying clothes," Tai jokes.
"Can you walk? Your too heavy to push," Mimi whines, pushing along a baby stroller with what looked like a baby Palmon in it.
"Mimi! How's that gonna look? I'm supposed to be a little baby," Palmon points out.
"You just grew up, now get out!" Mimi counters.
Once everyone was settled, they all found a quiet shady place to sit. They sat in a circle to discuss their plan. More and more of Myotismon's Digimon are out. Tai comments on how real all the digimon are. The others look at him puzzled. Tai explains the last time he saw them in this world they were all imaginary. When Tai was accidently caught in a time warp that sent him back into the human world, he saw digimon. Other people except him and Kari couldn't see them, they just walked right past and through them. Now people can see them and the Digimon can do destruction. Izzy explains that it's probably because these Digimon came through Myotismon's gate. Matt says that now that their physically here, they can do more damage. "Complete systems failure," Izzy says and looks around the circle. He explains that they better find the Eighth Child. "Well, I got a theory..."
"STOP!!! I want to hear Izzy's theory. Don't start till I get there, I love Izzy's theories! Hold on!!!" Joe yells out with Gomamon in a duffle bag. Joe runs towards the group in full speed, intent on hearing Izzy's theory.
"Alright, we won't start without you," Tai says, a bit surprised at Joe's determination.
Izzy continues. He concludes that the Digimon Battle that happened four years ago, they all were there. Including the Eighth Child. It is safe to assume, this is the reason why they were given the Digi Vices. Last night, he picked up an unidentified Digi Vice reading. This concludes that the Eighth Child is near here, in this facinity. Mimi holds up her address book and asks why they need them. Izzy explains that the Eighth Child is in one of the address books. The plan is, they call the people in their address books and patrol the city for Digimon attacks.
"Well...I guess I can do some calling as long as my folks don't find out. But I really gotta do some serious studying," Joe explains, not looking at the group. Tai reminds him that it's summer vacation! Joe says he wants "an early start".
"Here then, if your not coming with us, you might as well do the calling for me. Okay? Thanks," Mimi hands Joe her address book and walks away.
"Joe, we're talking about the fate of the world. If your gonnae chicken out, then you can call all the names in my book too. See ya!" Matt hands his address book and leaves.
"Yes, it might make more sense having one person concentrate on all the phone calling," Izzy decides to give Joe his address book, he too walks off.
"He has a point there. Good luck," Sora gives Joe her address book, gets up and leaves.
"Wait a minute.." Joe sees Tai coming over, "no Tai, not yours too!?"
"I'm not that kind of guy, Joe. Don't worry it's my job and you got enough on your plate," Tai says.
Joe stands up and looks at Tai with tears in his eyes, "Oh man, Tai. Your a great guy. Thanks a lot!"
"Mr. Generous, I bet he couldn't find his address book," Sora says, looking back.
"Well, how'd you ever guess?" Izzy says, smiling.
The silent and speedy bullet train of Japan, takes the group to their next destination. Unaware to them, below chugging along slowly is Myotismon's yacht with Demidevimon at the wheel. The group sees the damage done by last night's battle.
"Master, are we almost there yet? Cause all this water is making me queasy," Demidevimon's menacing high pitch voice whines. The yacht chugs under the Bullet Train's tracks. "Those digi-destined kids are probably miles away now."
Furthur along, fog engulfs the city yet again. Now the weather heats up more. People, employees of towers all go to the window and wonder. When will this weather be normal? They look up and say that the ozone layer is more messed up than ever.
In a clear glade, the wagon rolls along to a clearing, a trap door lowers the wagon below the ground. There many different Digimon await for his next command, in front of the pack of red eyed shadowy digimon, Gatomon 
is there waiting. The wagon door opens and out steps Myotismon. "Welcome oh great one. All is ready."
"Perfect, Gatomon. As always you have done excellent work," Myotismon praises.
Gatomon surfaces to the top, through the trap door. A familiar flapping of wings is heard, she turns and the bowling bowl with an ugly grin is there. "Hey whiskers! What do you think your doing?!"
"I don't think, I know why I'm here. I'm finding the Eighth Child," Gatomon says, her voice full of cunning.
"That's my job furball! I'm in charge here!" Demidevimon tells her.
"Yeah right," She says.
"Listen up puss in boots, quit sucking up to the master....I'm the master's cute little pet. Get me with a furball," Demidevimon mocks.
"It's really hard to feel threatened from a bowling ball with feathers," Gatomon says slyly.
Demidevimon looks at her menacingly and flys up, "Just keep out of my way. I'm finding that kid not you! Got it?! Take a cat nap kitty-litter!" Demidevimon flys off laughing.
Gatomon lowers her eyes, "That flappy winged joker can't find water even if he jumped out of a boat."
The kids arrive at their stop, they get off the bullet train and decide to split into pairs. That way they'll cover more ground. Agumon and Tentomon walk through a quiet market place, "I see food." Agumon points to an opened bakery.
"Agumon, keep your mind on our mission okay?" Tai scolds. Izzy and Tai see a couple of kids playing, Izzy holds up his digi-vice...nothing.
At the port, Matt and TK are there with their digimon Tsunomon and Patamon. A couple of kids are playing, they hold up their Digi-vices, hoping to see a beep or something; but nothing is there.
"Doesn't look like he's down there," Patamon says.
"That would of been too easy anyway," TK says sadly.
Meanwhile at home, Joe sits down on his desk and starts phoning every single name in the address books.
"Hey stop pushing!" Palmon says, irritated.
"Pushing?! Your kicking me!" Biyomon says. They both argue, in the baby carriage. Sora and Mimi and walking around searching with their digi-vices, well....mostly Sora.
"I know how they feel. Walking around in this heat is enough to make anyone cranky," Mimi says.
At a beach, many are out relaxing and basking in the sun. Windsurfers find their oppurtunity to get onto their boards and doing what they do best, windsurf. Hidden behind the trees, a white cat with yellow paws spy at the humans. "What silly creatures. Laugh it up. When Myotismon is through, you won't be laughing," Gatomon says silently.
In the park, not too far away from the beach, a stray peach colored cat darts through; followed by a young girl. "Meeko? Come back here, where'd you go?" 
Kari asks her darting cat. Kari goes after her cat, walking. A couple feet away in front of Kari, Gatomon walks forward also. They cross paths. Kari stops and looks at Gatomon, Gatomon senses someone looking at her looks up. "What a funny looking kitty," Kari comments. She kneels down and looks into Gatomon's eyes. 
"Hi there...are you a friend of Agumon's?" This got Gatomon's attention. "Are you one of them? What's your name?" Kari asks. Gatomon turns and starts to meow, Gatomon runs off. "Wait don't go!" Kari calls, but no use; Gatomon was gone.
At a crosswalk, Kari crosses. "Is it possible this squirt is the Eighth Child?" Gatomon thinks to herself. Gatomon follows Kari, she wonders how she knows Agumon. Darting from her vision, not letting her know; Gatomon follows. At the Kamiya's residence, Kari opens the door and looks over to her right. She sees Gatomon, Gatomon startled; quickly hides. "Hey! I know your there!" Kari calls out. "You can come in if you want to, Mom's not home," Kari goes in and leaves the door opened. Gatomon slowly creeps over to the door and goes in, surprised that the girl knew she was following her. Kari sits down at the sofa and turns on the TV, on the news the announcer says that the weather they are having is very bizarre and now a heat wave has come.
Sora and Mimi are walking along and Mimi declares that if she ever has a baby, she'll have someone raise it for her. She looks very tired pulling the baby carriage. She asks Sora for a break, Sora says, "Again?" She nods and everyone sits down on a bench. Mimi looks up at the blue sky and says that it's good to be back. She explains that last night she slept in a soft bed with the AC (air conditioner) cranked up, it was the best. Palmon comments that dinner was pretty good. Mimi explains that her Mom knows all the take out places so she doesn't have to cook.
"Sora's Mom made our dinner and it was terrific! Well all of it except this green mushy stuff, what was it called?" Biyomon asks.
Sora is deep in though, crossing out all the previous place that they have searched. She looks up, "What? Spinach." Sora creases her eye brows with thought. Mimi sees her and says that she isn't even tired.
"Your different. You like to take things easy," Palmon says.
Mimi stands up and says that the best place to go look is somewhere with lots of people. Sora asks what she has in mind, Mimi points up; The Tokyo Tower. She explains that they can really get the lay of the land there. Sora thinks about it and agrees.
At the base of the tower, a giant person with a metal mask and skull faced shoes looks up, through his hat and long trench-coat. He sees Sora and Mimi pushing a baby carriage. The group arrives at the top of the tower, Mimi takes off her hat and stretches out. She is glad that there's AC here. Sora shakes her head, she should of known she had an alterior motive. They go up to the glass window, Mimi points at a spot; and asks if that is Sora's house. Sora comments on how strange it is to be back in their world now. The elevator opens and a person with skull shoes steps out. The group says that it suddenly feels warmer, they move closer to the blowers. But the blowers suddenly stopped. Everyone in the tower looks around to see what the matter is with the added heat.
"Oh! Look at that wierdo wearing a coat in this heat. And such an ugly one too," Mimi points out.
"Hey! Be quiet, he'll hear you," Sora warns.
"Oh and what's he gonna do?" Mimi says mockingly. The giant turns around.
"See he heard you...."
Blue flames engulf the man and the coat and hat is burnt away. The giant grows in size to reveal one of Myotismon's evil digimon. Palmon and Biyomon sees the danger and jumps out. The digimon is full of muscles with chains along it's body. It's face is a metal mask and it's hair flows blue wildly. "Well...uh..I guess that explains the coat," Mimi says shocked.
Crossing the street, Tai and Izzy sees Tokyo Tower bent in the heat. Agumon comments on the sudden rise in heat. Tai takes out his telescope and sees Birdramon fly out a window with an evil digimon following close behind! Birdramon swoops down and flys up, "Meteor Wings!" The numerous fireballs hit the Digimon, but no damage is done.
"Get ready for my needle spray!" Togemon marchs up and sprays her needles at the Digimon. The Digimon grabs a fist full of chains and slashes it past the needles. It's chain hits Togemon back. Up above, Kabuterimon with Izzy, Tai and Agumon on his back is there. Izzy asks Agumon to explain what this Digimon is.
"SkullMeramon. His element is fire. He's tough and he can sure dish it out," Agumon explains.
"METAL FIREBALL!" SkullMeramon spits a wad of blue fire at Kabuterimon. Kabuterimon dodges, but the fireball hits one of Tokyo Tower's beams. The fireball is like blue acid, melting through everything.
"Grab it Kabuterimon!" Izzy says. Kabuterimon grabs it, preventing the Tower from collapsing.
Tai sees the group needs his help, he holds out his DigiVice. "Don't you know not to play with fire?!"
"Agumon digi-volve to......GREYMON!" 
Greymon jumps towards SkullMeramon and kicks him in mid-air. That takes SkullMeramon by surprise; he falls back. "NOVA BLAST!" Greymon hurtles a giant fireball at SkullMeramon. The Nova Blast hits SkullMeramon square in the chest, but to their shock; he only grows bigger.
"He swallowed that Nova Blast like a hot fudge sundae!" Tai exclaims, staring in disbelief.
SkullMeramon lunges towards Greymon, Greymon leaps into the air. The screen grows dark, a 3D DigiVice shakes and rings, it emits a bright light. The light shines through a crest and changes color, it shines on a 3D Greymon 
. "Greymon digivolve to....METALGREYMON!"
They both charge towards each other, they lock up in a huge mercy fight. SkullMeramon clasping MetalGreymon's claws, they try to joust the other off balance and into the ground. At first, it seems that both of them are equal in strength. Soon SkullMeramon over-powers MetalGreymon, he pushes him to the ground. MetalGreymon's bottom claws dig deep into the ground, then his knees are pushed down. Birdramon flys overhead. Togemon charges towards SkullMeramon, trying to help out. She jumps onto the back of SkullMeramon. SkullMeramon just falls onto her. Togemon runs around with blue flames all over her body. "Oh...hot..hot....oh," She runs around like a chicken with no head.
"Metal fireball!" SkullMeramon looks up and spits out his acid blue attack, it hits Birdramon. She cries out in pain and falls. MetalGreymon sees his chance, he flys up.
"Hey up here, bucket of bolts! MEGA CLAW!" MetalGreymon uses his metallic claw and like a cannon fires it towards SkullMeramon. With no hestitation, SkullMeramon wraps MetalGreymon's claw with his chain and tugs on it, grinning with evil. MetalGreymon is stuck!
"Metal fireball!" MetalGreymon dodges the acidic fireball. "I've got you!" SkullMeramon taunts. He tugs on the chain, MetalGreymon flys close.
"Who's got who now?" MetalGreymon pulls up on, his metallic claw attached back to his arm. He pulls and lifts SkullMeramon up and throws him into the horizon. "GIGA BLASTER!" His chest opens up and reveals two heat seeking missles and it's target is SkullMeramon! With bits of scrap metal and a lot of smoke, SkullMeramon is destroyed.
At the Kamiya's house, Gatomon is thinking to herself. "She isn't so bad for a human. Better company then some digimon, that's for sure." Gatomon looks menacingly at Kari, who is watching TV. Gatomon jumps on top of the sofa and makes her way behind Kari. "Still, orders are orders and I'm not going to be the one to let the Eighth Child get away...." Gatomon lifts up her sharp front paws towards Kari's head. The claws glisten in the room light. Kari turns her head and smiles to Gatomon.
"Hey come here," Kari says, holding out her hands. Gatomon is again, startled and falls off the sofa. Gatomon gets up and leaves. "Are you going already? But you'll come back right?" Kari asks innocently, looking at the odd looking cat. Gatomon looks back at the young girl and runs out of the apartment.
Running fiercely, Gatomon thinks back at the young child. "Her sweetness makes me loose my edge. But I'll be back, next time I'll be ready for her."
A bird's eye view of the immense city is seen, the news announcer addresses the city's monster crisis. "It's clear the Earth is at some kind of crossroad. The question is, down which road does our destiny await?"
