Where : Philips Arena, Ga.
Vantage point : Section 307, row M, seat 14.
What you need to know :
Scorers: Brunette (again on a PP), Ward (nice one-timer), Shannon (redeemed for a couple of brain farts) and Svartvadet (with 50 sec left to suffer)
Goddamn tired of seeing the opposite team dancing around in our zone;
Rhodes should show up at the beginning of periods: a goal at 1:12 in the 1st, 2:20 in the 2nd and :18 in the 3rd;
Botteril played but could have stayed with Stefan in the stands: -2 and 1 shot;
Nice touch: people sang the Canadian anthem;
Note to Yashin:If i were you, I would sign right now 'cause the Sens sure don't look like they need you.

What you need to know :
Scorer: Ferraro (1st) and Buzek (3rd on a PP);
Prochazka was in the press box instead of a bus to Orlando;
Great effort from everybody but in the end, we tried not to lose...;
Note to TS: Use a wider angle... there is more to hockey than the puck handler.;
Hit of the day: Buzek on Hedjduk behind the Thrashers' net;
If it was Colorado's 3rd game in 4 nights, how come they finished stronger than us?;
But hey, we got a point against one of the best teams in the league!

What you need to know :
Scorer: Shannon;
Tremblay a mysterious healthy scratched after 1 goal and 1 assist yesterday.;
I thought we played very well;
Players are very impressed by talented opponants: they sure like to look at Fleury;
Tourism cost us the 1st two goals;
Some players had an eye on the Braves' game... too bad, they missed a great performance by their teammates;
| The Good | We looked like NHLers on a bad day; Maracle bounced back after a horrible performance against the Wings; |

What you need to know :
Scorers: Brunette (2), Tremblay, Buzek;
Dodged a few bullets at the start of the game;
Settled down and played like NHLers;
Thought we were the Red Wings;
Crashed and burned in the 3rd after leading 4-1;
| The Good | Kept and built on a lead; Ferraro's linemates woke-up; Got a point in our division. |
| The Bad | See what happens when you stop working?; |

Oct. 14: Thrashers 2 - Islanders 0
Where : Nassau Coliseum, NY. att. 3,062 -it's not a typo- showed up.
Vantage point : Turner South, Thrashers radio network, ESPN.
What you need to know :
Scorers: Brunette (superb top shelf in a PP) and Buchberger(after an off-side not called);
Rhodes stopped 20 shots;
Let's continue to avoid long winless streaks;
Good first period, boring 2nd and 3rd;
Who cares, WE WON!!!;
We beat the worst team in the NHL;
Who cares, WE WON!!!;
Ferraro is getting pissed. Nobody seems to be able to finish his great plays;
Atlanta Braves pitchers Tom Glavine and John Smoltz were there;
| The Good | Kept and built on a lead; We are not as bad as the Isles; 2 good games in a row. Ferrel is getting better on his play-by-play. |
| The Bad | Can't complain, WE WON!!!; |
| The Ugly | Either sell the Isles to somebody who cares about hockey or move the team Better yet, close the franchise. There is too many teams in the NHL. |
Oct. 10: Thrashers 5 - Sabres 5
Where : Philips Arena, Atlanta, Ga. att. 18,545 (sell-out)
Vantage point : Turner South in my living room between two(!) beers, ESPN, AJC.
What you need to know :
Scorers: Emerson, Stefan(2), Lambert and Brunette (not Burnett like in the AJC!);
Hasek out after the 4th goal in the second period;
Rhodes did the saves to keep us in the game in OT;
Satan scored on a penalty shot when Emerson stopped a goal with his hands;
Much better intensity;
Ferraro: ok to be physical but you need to be more disciplined;
Last on defense, but more goals this season than the Flyers and Ducks!;
Hockey like old-time, like Eddy Shore!!!;
| The Good | 4 goals against the Dominated; Everybody contributed in some way; Great way to rebound after a bad loss. |
| The Bad | Could not hold a 2 goals lead in the 3rd, something we were good at in pre-season; We have to wait until Thursday for the next game!. |
| The Ugly | Bad penalty killing: 4 goals in 2 games; An exiting game like this erases a lot of ugliness! |
Oct. 7: Thrashers 1 -Red Wings 7
Where : Philips Arena, Atlanta, Ga. att. 18,545 (sell-out)
Vantage point : Section 318, row F, seat 21.
What you need to know :
Scorer: Buzek with a one-timer from the point. His 1st NHL goal;
Missed 4 breakaways, 2 by Ferraro;
Maracle seemed out of it in the 1st. Did not receive much help;
Ok to be out-talented by a 2 time Cup winner but no reason to be outworked that way;
More Wings jerseys than in Joe-Louis Arena. 1st chant: Go Wings Go;
Me and my wife would have helped Ferraro more on his line;
Score board during warm-ups read Thrashers 0 - Devils 0!;
| The Good | Great second period; 2 more goals this season than the Flyers! |
| The Bad | A game lasts 60 minutes, boys; No consistent physical play. |
| The Ugly | Very disorganized on defense (our supposed strenght); when the score was 3-0, you just new there was no way we could come back |
Oct. 2: Thrashers 1 - Devils 4
Where : Philips Arena, Atlanta, Ga. att. 18,545
Vantage point : Turner South between diapers
What you need to know :
Scorer: Kelly Buchberger on a 3 on 2 when the score was 0-2. Great pass from Stefan;
Wide open game with a lot of scoring chances;
Encouraging start. Suggestions: shoot when you have a clear view of the goal, follow Kelly's lead and hit somebody;
1st dumb mistake: Emerson did a great pass in front of his own net to Oliwa who scored;
Rhodes did not make the saves, Brodeur did;
A let down during a delayed penalty resulted in Holik's goal;
Kevin Dean had a great seat for the back-breaker goal in the 3rd: in front of the net doing nothing;
Boom Boom Geoffrion did the first face-off. Tan as ever!
