Art meets action in John Woo's ONCE A THIEF, the new prime-time series from top action filmmaker, John Woo is a tale of intrigue, romance and explosive nonstop action (wow). Based on the critically-acclaimed 2-hour movie (totaly awsome), John Woo's ONCE A THIEF tells the story of two young refugees from a criminal empire in Hong Kong. It stars Sandrine Holt, Ivan Sergei, Nicholas Lea and Jennifer Dale as "The Director".
Brought up to be expert in all manner of criminal skills-everything from martial arts to superb abilities to con - Mac Ramsey (Ivan Sergei) and Li Ann Tsei (Sandrine Holt), both in their mid-twenties, are forced to use their expertise to fight crime in North America. Working with a former cop, Victor Mansfield (Nicholas Lea), they are part of an elite law enforcement agency that takes on threats that are too powerful, protected, or unique for regular police forces.
Complicating their relationship is an ongoing sexual tension among the three operatives (Some people have all the luck). The stories take us into startling, cutting-edge worlds, fusing romance, action and humor, all in the signature style of John Woo, the man who broke down the wall between the action movie and the art film. Othe stuff by Mr Woo, Face/OFF, Broken Arrow, Hard Target, Hard Boiled(?). John Woo and Terence Chang will be the executive producers of the series. William Laurin and Glenn Davis (South Beach, Scene of the Crime) serve as executive producers and writers. Wendy Grean is producer. John Woo's ONCE A THIEF is an Alliance Communications Corporation production for broadcast on the CTV Television Network in Canada, ProSieben in Germany, TF1 in France and will air in Austria and Spain. Alliance distributes world-wide. Here it's on at 10:00 on Saturday nights! Watch it!
