'Johnson' dates and booking information

Details of the play which marks Stewart's return to the British stage for the first time in 15 years are revealed in West Yorkshire Playhouse's Summer programme as follows:

Described by Priestley as an "adventure of the theatre", Johnson Over Jordan is a journey through the past and present life of Robert Johnson, recently deceased. In order to reach the Inn at the End of the World and begin his final voyage, Robert must first negotiate not only the bureaucracy of the Central Offices of Universal Assurance and Global Loan and Finance Corporation but also the bright lights, strong drink and beautiful girls at the Jungle Hot Spot night club. Johnson Over Jordan is an ambitious, dreamlike piece of theatre and, ultimately, a deeply moving account of a very ordinary man's life.

X-Men garners 10 Saturn nominations

The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films announced the nominations for the annual Saturn Awards last week, with X-Men topping the list with a total of 10 nominations including one for Stewart in the Best Supporting Actor category.

Sci-Fi.com have the full list of nominees for the awards which will be presented on 12 June in LA.

Blockbuster Awards tomorrow

Meanwhile don't forget Patrick has also been nominated for his role as Professor Charles Xavier in the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards which are presented tomorrow 11 April.

Stewart is nominated in the Favourite Actor - Science Fiction category, and Fox TV will be broadcasting the event for US television.

Virginia Woolf round-up

All the reviews, interviews, articles and details of the recent production of 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' at the Guthrie theater in Minneapolis have now been compiled in the theatre section of this site, however here's one final article from the Minneapolis Star Tribune which again asks the question "Will it transfer to Broadway?"

From stage to screen...

Sunday saw the curtain fall on the much lauded 'Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?'. With full houses on most dates during the 6 week run in Minneapolis, it now remains to be seen if the show will transfer to Broadway next year. Read Playbill's article.
Finally appearing on stage at the theater founded by Tyrone Guthrie, has made up for the disappointment Stewart felt many years ago as this Associated Press article at CNN reveals.

With Woolf now finished, Patrick moves to Mexico; as star and co-executive producer of 'King Of Texas' - a US television production made in partnership once again with TNT and Robert Halmi Snr. of Hallmark Entertainment.

Patrick Who?

Although a household name in the US, and known and respected for his work in theatre, film and television - things are a little different in Patrick's homeland I regret to say.

Having just returned from a short break in Yorkshire I took the opportunity of catching a one-man production by another fine British actor, Edward Petherbridge, at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. Whilst chatting to several other theatre-goers that evening and mentioning the upcoming WYP production of J.B. Priestley's 'Johnson Over Jordan' in which Patrick will star, not one of them recognised his name....let's hope Jude Kelly's production reminds them what a great actor we've been missing for the past 15 years in Britain.
