The Saturday Tutoring Program: A Venue for Volunteering

Look at the list of Who's Who coming to The Saturday Tutoring Program during the first semester of the program's 20th year! There's still time for you or your group to get involved.

New volunteers may begin any Saturday, and should arrive in the dining room at 9:15 a.m. for an abbreviated orientation on their first day. To get involved, e-mail saturdaytutoring@gmail.com or call (216) 421-0482 x281.
 

  • September 12, 2009: During our tutor training session in the dining room, we welcomed volunteers from Lyndhurst Community Presbyterian Church, CWRU, John Carroll University, and the Greater Cleveland community.

  • September 19: The first tutoring session of 2009-2010. Baldwin-Wallace College, Beaumont High School, and members of the Junior League of Cleveland will begin volunteering.

  • September 26: Day two of tutoring, we'll welcome tutors from Olivet Institutional Baptist Church.

  • October 3: Students, alumni, and staff from Walden University will join us on their Global Day of Service.

  • October 10: CWRU students, faculty and staff will volunteer at Covenant and at locations throughout the city on their Saturday of Service.

  • October 17: Volunteers from the organization, Hands On Northeast Ohio, will be part of Make a Difference Days.

  • October 24: The Biomedical Engineering Graduate Student Association (BMEGSA) will spend the morning with us.

  • October 31 is available for your coworkers or organization!

  • November 7: The Saturday Tutoring Program is closed while The Church of the Covenant hosts the Covenant Network convention.

  • November 14: Volunteers from CWRU's Greek Life Service Symposium and Mortar Board (national honor society chapter) will tutor.

  • November 21 ends the first semester of the tutoring program's 20th year of providing free tutoring services for children in grades 1 – 12 from throughout Greater Cleveland.
