Hi and welcome to my Warcraft 2 Bugs page! Here are some bugs that you can find in Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness that may even help you in the game!

1. The Lumber Bug # 1 - When you start the game, before you build a Hall, go over to some wood and take only 2 chops at it with your Peasant/Peon than tell it to stop or move it somewhere else. Than immediately build a Hall. When your Hall is complete, you will gain an extra 100 wood! Also, before building your Lumber Mill, do the same thing and when it's complete you will gain another 125 extra wood! It's like your Peon/Peasant started chopping wood, stopped, and took a whole tree.

 

2. The Lumber Bug # 2 - I mentinoed this one before in the Strategy Guide, in the manual of Warcraft 2, it says that the spell Death & Decay can destroy wood and metal. But if you cast Death & Decay on trees the trees will not go away. Aren't trees made out of wood too???

 

3. The Lumber Bug # 3 - If you play with Fog of War on, you will notice that when someone is cutting wood and there you can't see the area because of the Fog of War, you can still see the wood disapperar! Cool!

 

4. The Sounds Bug - If you make your own PUD and you put people on "rescue" that aren't your race (if you're Orc and they're Human or vice-versa) when you rescue them the sounds go crazy. It's like when you click on your peon, he responds with a Human response. It's pretty odd.

 

5. The Dwarven/Sapper Bug - This isn't really a bug, but it's pretty neat. If you cast Invisibility or Unholy Armor on ANY of the Sappers/Dwarvens on the map, they will die.

 

6. The Raise the Dead Bug - Skeletons which are created with the Raise Dead spell die after 10 minutes, I think. If a skeleton is on a transport when it dies, its picture (icon) on the transport will change to the icon of the next unit or building created in the game, whether the building or unit yours or someone else's. The actual building or unit will behave normally until such time as the transport is unloaded. The unit/building will then appear at the new site and disappear from the old. This makes for some interesting possibilities, e.g. transporting enemy barracks to desert island, transporting your own tower to enemy island. In this circumstance buildings may even be unloaded onto rocks and shorelines otherwise not possible.

 

7. The Wall Bug - Computer thinks that walls are apart of the background just like trees. So if someone is building a wall in the game, you can see the wall appear as it's being built (when Fog of War is on)!
