This B-17G "Trojan Horse" was used for deep penetration boming missions against the Allies, This captured allied aircraft bombed allied targets in England.  It would follow returning bombers at night get past anti aircraft defences, and successfully bomb it's targets! Then return home to Germany which was no easy task, because german flack batteries sometimes shot at the returning aircraft.  The I/KG 200  also had special groups that would disperse to the scene of a downed U.S. plane to recover fuel and parts to keep These"Birds" flying(which was by all means no easy task, US fighters often straithed there downed planes).
