Chapter 21: .Angels.Can.Be.Cool.Too. They made theirselves comfortable on the cold, hard floor, and Tay looked at her expectantly. "Well, first thing's first. You probably want to know my name. My full name is Angelica, but most people call me Angel. I like that better anyway," she smiled.
"Angel. That's pretty. So did Drusilla bring you here, too? You look like you'd fit the description of what she's after. If I look like I'm some goody-goody, you fit the part a million times better than I do. Wait, I didn't mean it badly, that came out wrong, sorry..." he said blushing. He didn't know why, but he felt so awkward around her. He felt like he was so insignifigant next to her. Sure, girls embarrassed him, but she was different. Very different. And he was about to find out why.
"Welllllll...not exactly...I mean she brought me here in a way, but I'm here because I want to be...sort of. Ohhhhhh geez, I just messed that all up. Okay, I guess I'll just explain everything straight out, I'm sorry. I was never any good at talking, anyway," she giggled.
"Hey, your voice is kind of familiar," Tay thought.
"It SHOULD be!! I've only been dropping hints to you this whole week warning you..." she said.
"Umm...okay I think you'd better explain..." he said, shaking his head.
"Alright. As you know, there is good, and there is bad. Drusilla is bad. She has potential to be good, but she never will be, and never EVER trust her. I work for God. I'm an angel, and I've come here to help you. I came to save you, because not only is your life on the line, but your whole family needs help, and only you can do that," she said, seriously.
"No pressure or anything..." he scoffed. "So you're my guardian angel or something?"
"In a way...yes. But you know how a guardian is usually assigned to one person? Well, it's different for me. My job is to protect people from Drusilla. Whoever she comes across, it is my job to protect them. It is NOT an easy job. She has been at this for who knows how long," she sighed, obviously frustrated.
"Angel? Will you really help me? Will I get through this? What about my family, my brothers? I'm so scared..." he spoke softly. At first, he didn't know if he should trust this girl, but when he looked into her eyes he was surrounded by warmth. All his fear and nervousness disappeared and he just wanted to hug her. Her eyes told him everything would be fine. A radiant white light surrounded her and made her glow in the dark bubble.
"You will be fine. I won't fail you. In the end, good always outruns evil; I want you to always remember that. You are going to have to work hard yourself, because there is only so much I can do, and at times, it may be a struggle, but never give up, and don't lose faith...or else all will be lost." she said.
"So what do we do, then? How do we do this?" he questioned.
"I don't know. I honestly don't know..." she trailed off.
"Oh now that makes me feel confident!" he said sarcastically.
"We have to see what her move is. When we do, we'll see what happens. I have tabs on her at all times. See, look," she said as she waved her hand in the air. A small transparant cloud appeared in their view, and in it, Taylor could see his body sleeping peacefully.
"And my brothers?"
"Taylor, they are fine! She hasn't woken up yet! And she's not going to get them right away. It will take time. But if you want..." she said, and slowly, the cloud showed Ike and Zac in a deep slumber. "Satisfied?"
"For now," he sighed sadly.
Angel walked over and lifted his chin. "It's okay. Have faith. Please believe in yourself. It's important."
"I know, it's just so hard. I don't know what to do. I mean just tonight I realized who I was, but right now that doesnt matter, because basically, I don't even exist. I'm a wandering soul, right?"
"Not for long. I know this seems so confusing, and none of this should have happened, but Drusilla is a greedy girl, just like her instructor. I know it's difficult, but you need to cheer up. Trust me, things will be fine. We have some time to kill..." she started.
"Please don't use that word!!!" he laughed.
"Whoops! Sorry! So do you wanna see some of the stuff you can do when you're not in a physical body? It's really neat! You'll love it!" she exclaimed.
"Yeah, why not...might as well, hopefully this will be my only chance until YEARS later..." he laughed.
"Cool! This is gonna rock! I always wanted to show people how to do this stuff..."
"You sound funny!!!! You said cool!!" he laughed hysterically.
"Ummm...duh!" she said, very confused.
"OH MY GOD YOU SAID 'DUH'!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!" he found it to be the funniest thing in a long time.
"What's the big deal???" she asked
"I dunno, you're an angel...you're supposed to speak in like...old English or something!!" he told her.
"No way! You read too many books. If I had to do that, I'd jump off a bridge. Dude...I'm a hip and happening angel, so get used to it now, babe," she smiled.
"WOW! You are soooo much cooler than I thought..."
"Gee...thanks..." she rolled her eyes.
"ARGH! Not like that! Nevermind, I'm gonna stop before I get myself into trouble......" he stuttered. "Anyway, what can you show me? I mean...we're in a prison cell...bubble...thing, and you know I can't leave..."
"Yeah, I know, but who says you can't do stuff in the cell?? There's no rule against that..." she smiled. Tay looked at her carefully. If she didn't have that glow around her, then she'd be a perfect teenager. She was wearing a white tank top and white bell bottoms. Her eyes were a gentle blue, and her long hair was soft, looking as if it had been spun from gold. She was very pretty. Very pure and very innocent.
"Alright, then what can we do?"
"How about floating? Wanna try that?" she asked, very excitedly.
"Sure, I've always wanted to fly or something!" he laughed.
"Kay! Well it's REALLLLLLYYYYY easy! See, you're in a spirit form, so even though you look real, you don't have any mass. You have no body weight, so just picture yourself lifting into the air. Right now, you are so used to weighing something, your mind is keeping you down. Think that you weigh nothing at all, and then let yourself go!" she explained. He watched her as she rose into the air, and swooped over his head, causing him to duck. "C'mon slow poke!!! Come catch me!" she giggled.
"Okayyyyyy...here goes...." he said, and before he knew it, he was rising up to the ceiling. "Oh my god it feels so weird!!!!!!!" he giggled and started going in circles. "HOW DO I STOP SPINNING?????? AHHHH How do you steer???????????" he panicked. Not long after, he felt himself drop to the floor.
"Silly!!! Don't be nervous, you can't hurt yourself! Just pretend like you are walking, or swimming. I would say driving, but I know you probably don't want me to mention that.....OOPS! Nevermind, I just blew it, didn't I?" she laughed.
"YES OH SMART ONE!!!! That's it! You asked for it now!!!!!" he giggled mischievously.
"Oh yeah? Whatcha gonna do, MAMA'S BOY????" she joked.
"THAT IS THE LAST STRAW!!!" he yelled and seconds later he was in the air zooming at Angel. They chased each other back and forth, and Tay knew that this was the most fun he's had in such a long time. All good things must come to an end, however, because hell was just about to break loose.
