Modeller: George Illingworth, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK Notes: This model is inspired by a pioneer effort of Sid Becket in producing the very first "floating" Meccano ship model. George came up with the idea to use Paddle Power. The secret is the use of a yellow Plastic Meccano box as the major portion of the hull. A twisted strip acts as the screw, driven by a small electric motor. Naturally it doesn't go very fast, but it's much better than a rubber duck! |
