Dear Eleanor:
                            I am a 60-year-old divorced male.   I am decent
looking, financially secure, have a lot of friends
and am fun and interesting.   But I haven't dated
in 25 years.   Why?   It's embarrassing to admit,
                            but I feel inadequately endowed.

My friends think I am just too picky,  but I can't
tell them the truth.  I would love to have a wom-
an in my life to travel with and share all  I  have
to  offer.  I would treat her like an angel.  I don't
want to go on spending my life alone.  What can
                            I do?
                                                                                     Embarrassed

Dear Bare-Ass:
Er – uh – ah ––– do you mean you have a small
dick?  Or,  you can't get a hard-on?   I think this
question would be better put to our other colum-
nist,  that strong,  powerful,  good-looking,  rich
white  boy,  Leonard  Simon,  "the Wheat."    I'll
see if I can get him to answer you next week.

Dear Eleanor:

Two years ago my husband of 50 years confessed
that  46 years ago,  shortly after our son was born,
he had a one-night stand  with a total stranger  he
gave a ride to.  They went to a hotel.

He  said he had totally forgotten about it  until  re-
cently. He said he was very upset when he remem-
bered, to the point that he felt sick.  He decided to
tell me because he didn't want any secrets between
us,  he said;  and he asked me to forgive him. I for-
gave him.  But  I  am  devastated.  He was a virgin
when we married,  and he has been unfaithful only
                            that one time.

Eleanor, I cannot get over the fact he did this to me.
Not a single day goes by without the pain, and ima-
ges of him being unfaithful in a marriage I consider-
                            ed nearly perfect until then.

My husband loves me and has been very supportive,
but it’s not enough to heal the pain.  Your  words  of
                            wisdom will be appreciated.

Dear Wound-up:
Jesus, dumby cunty, get your shit together!   He
confessed!  He apologized!  You want a divorce,
or a good husband?   You have a choice.   Make

Dear Eleanor:

My husband and I own a condo in a building with 22 u-
nits.  Because of COVID,  one of the HOA board mem-
bers posted signs listing "rules" throughout the building.
The rules are typical for these times,  but the number of
signs is obsessive. Many residents dislike the signs, and
my husband wrote a nasty letter to the HOA about  how
                            many were posted.

The board member responsible for posting the signs is a
friend  of  mine.  Her feelings were hurt,  and  she  made

know the HOA member is mad at him.  I just want to go
to happy hour and drink and gossip.   Why  can't  we  all

Dear Eleanor:
I'm 54 but feel like  in  my  80's.   My hair is gray,  I'm
out of shape,  and I'm trying to raise a daughter  in this
pandemic.  Home schooling is not fun at all.  I feel I'm
going through a major depression, and my marriage is
getting to that hated word "divorced."

My wife and I have been together for  almost  10 years.
Our daughter is an exact duplicate of her mom in looks,
attitude, moods and everything else. My daughter and I
are just fire and ice; we cannot get along. I love her, but
she's a mama's girl, big time.  My wife works and is the
breadwinner of the house; I do the housework.

I'm scared I am losing my wife and my manhood.  Our
marriage has not been all that great.   We  have  ups  as
well as downs,  but  we're  drifting  apart.  Even though
we may not be intimate,  kiss  each  other  or try to love
each other, we are still together for our daughter.  Call it
an excuse or whatever you want, it's the truth.

My question to you is this:  Why do I feel the way I do,
facing what I face every day,  with  no  energy  for any-
thing?  I love my wife but the loving feeling is going a-
way.  What do I do?  I need your help. Please be honest
with me and tell me what to do.
                                                                                           Sexless in Texas

Dear Tex:

Quotations of the Wheat (Simon said):

"I was speaking to an old buddy from Butler County, who
obviously did not grow up a  rich  white  boy.   Him  said,
'Wheat, Wheat, you can't always buy the good stuff.'

"And  me  said,  'Poor white trash,  if it ain't the good stuff,
don't buy it.   Aldo  Gucci,  1934:  "The bitterness of poor
quality lasts far longer than the sweetness of a low price".' "

Dear Eleanor:
This is about the little girl who was being bullied by
companion  schoolgirls.  Our  daughter  got  bullied,
and I want to share how my wife handled it.  She in-
vited the mothers and daughters over for coffee and
dessert.  She made it clear the invitation was manda-
tory. They all came. It was a nice meeting.

She explained what was going on  and why bullying
is unacceptable.  If it didn't stop, she said, she would
take further action;  and no one wants that to happen.
The mothers were surprised to hear what their daugh-
ters were doing.  It not only stopped,  but the girls all
became friends. I'm sure all their lives changed. Bull-
ying can scar some people for life.
                                                                                               A. Solution

Dear Solly:
A "mandatory" invitation?  The only mandatory invita-
tions  I  know  are  subpoenas,  summonses  and indict-
                        ments.

"Further action"?  That sounds like a lawsuit, an indict-
ment,  or  mobsterism.  I guess Mama is a lawyer,  or a
judge,  or a court clerk  –  or  a  moll.

Poll results:
It's a bit of a toss-up.  The favorite versions of the song "Jimmie
Brown the Newsboy"  seem to be Flatt & Scruggs'  and Norman
Blake's.  Although it's known as a Carter family song,  it's based
on an 1875 composition by  William "Shakespeare" Hays  called
"Jimmie Brown the Paper Boy," revised and retitled by A. P. Car-
ter
in 1929.  The main verse in the song is:
I sell the morning paper, sir; my name is Jimmie Brown;
Everybody knows me:  I'm the newsboy of the town.
But only one recording we've found bears the  exact  words  of
that verse (Peter Rowan's).

In most versions it's the first verse; but in the Carter family's re-
cording  (and Carl Smith's)  it's the  third,  and the Carter family
sings:
. . . 'Most everybody knows I am the newsboy of the town.
Lester Flatt, Bill Monroe, Dixie Michelle and Blueberry Hill sing:
. . . Everybody knows that I'm the newsboy of the town.

(and you can see and hear Earl Scruggs playing guitar on the
 Flatt & Scruggs version!).
Lonesome Prairie sings:
. . . 'Most everybody knows that I'm the newsboy of the town.
Mac Wiseman sings:
. . . Everybody knows I am the newsboy of the town.
Carl Smith sings:
. . . Everybody knows I am the newsboy of this town.
Norman Blake sings:
. . . Everybody knows me, sir, the newsboy of the town.
George Hamilton IV sings:
. . . Everybody knows that I'm the best newsboy in town.
Skeeter Davis sings it in third person ("that he's").

titled "Hank, you have 91 new notifications,
"
a message titled "Hank, you have
90 new notifications.," and a message titl
ed "Hank, you have  89 new notifications."

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE:

Remember, if you don't want to receive any more of this inane crap,
just hit your "Reply" button and type in the subject line, "GET THESE
TABLOID HEADLINES OUT OF MY LIFE AND FUCK OFF!"

But remember also, you have to spell and punctuate the message
exactly as it appears above €“ without quotation marks, and without
that redundant "Re: " that appears in so many subject lines €“ or you
will keep getting this shit!  ("Cut and paste" won't work, either.  We
have a special filter to detect that.)\
