Temple of Sinawava Hike

As you walk up the path, a cliff face on your right is covered in "hanging gardens" — water seeps through the rock and feeds plant life living on the rock. Spring was just greening the walls when we were there, and the rock was so wet it looked like blue ice from certain angles.

Jack had fun with rocks; you can see the Virgin River behind him. He didn't fall in.

Waterfalls abound in Zion. This particularly tall cliff face (right) had one that turned into vapor before it reached the ground. I'm in the lower left corner for scale.

This (below)is were the easy path stops, and the Narrows hike would begin. Just a mile of cold sloshing up the Virgin River from here and we'd be in he coolest part of Zion. There was a cute stone box where folks left good walking sticks for this part of the trail.
