Anubis: Armor of Chaos (balance)

 

 

Background: Anubis was one of the evil Talpa’s Dark Warlords in the TV program Ronin Warriors.  He soon found himself questioning Talpa’s orders.  With the Ancient One’s guidance and advice, he was able to eventually cast off Talpa’s influence and join the Ronins against him.  When the Ancient sacrificed himself to help the others, Anubis assumed his place as the new Ancient.  Anubis died to free Kayura from Talpa’s control.  In my first Sentinel story he has been brought back to life by the power of the Ancients to help out on earth with an approaching crisis.  He meets with the Ronins and gives them their orbs back that allow them armor up.

 

While the Sentinel Armors are strong, they are not complete without the fifth armor.  Most everyone believed the fifth armor was never completed.  Two ancient Egyptian gods gave Anubis the Armor of Chaos to take its place so he could fight Moros, Age, Apate, and their warrior, Nemesis.  These chaos gods infused it with all their energy, dying in the process.  Anubis now wears this wild and powerful armor.  He currently lives at Mia’s, having become good friends with her and Uli--two of the first people to believe in him when he turned away from Talpa.  He has also become a sort-of father figure to Jack, helping him deal with his mood swings and depression.

 

Good Traits: The power of the Ancients makes Anubis wise and perceptive.  He is a rational, calming influence on the others.  He also has a keen understanding of the workings of evil based on his past experience as a Dark Warlord.  His armor is perhaps the strongest of the Sentinel Armors.

 

Bad Traits: He sometimes becomes maudlin, dwelling on past mistakes and crimes.  He can become depressed and borderline antisocial, believing himself not to be fit company for others.  It may be a long time before he can forgive himself for the horrible things he’s done—especially to Oshay.  Unfortunately, his armor often reacts to his mood.  The angrier he is when he uses it, the more powerful and chaotic its intensity and strength.

 

Abilities: The Armor of Chaos is dark purple and black.  Its weapon is a long scythe.  When fighting the Children of Nyx, the scythe showed that it had the power to cut insubstantial creatures such as spirits.  With his attack of “Chaos Fury”, Anubis twirls his scythe to create a vortex.  This vortex behaves like a mini-blackhole, sucking in whatever is in its path and ripping it apart. When all the armors combine their powers, he can summon the "Chaos Maelstorm"--an extreme, elemental, black-hole blend of all their attributes.  The armor allows him to be unfazed and unmuddled by chaotic events around him—even those that defy the laws of physics.
