Monopoly Jr.
for ages K-3 - Great Learning Game!
They've done a great job of redesigning the traditional game
of Monopoly for young children. They have, wisely, retained many of the
original's familiar elements that have made it so appealing and enduring. The
goal of the game remains the same: acquire the most properties and collect the
most money from rent on those properties. He who has the most money wins.
However, in this game there is no Boardwalk or Park Place to be bought and sold:
the game is set in an amusement park. Click on picture for more info!
Orly's
Draw-A-Story
Grade: 1 to 4
Pick any of Orly's fantastic stories, then pause to
draw and color a picture. Characters talk and joke with users while they work,
and later come to life as part of the story. Users may also write and illustrate
their own stories. Click on picture for more info!
Sesame Street Stacking Puzzle Elmo
Grade: Toddler
to Preschool
A great beginners puzzle, Sesame Street fans won't even realize they are working
on a puzzle until they see it completely. The pieces are big, colorful, and
durable. They will easily stand up to being scattered across the room, dumped
into the toy bin, or chewed on by the dog. None of the pieces are small enough
to get stuck in a little mouth and won't become soggy (unlike cardboard pieces)
even if they are chewed. 5 pieces fit together loosely, creating a 3 dimensional
picture of this T.V. friend. Puzzles help children improve their visual
discrimination and motor planning. Click

Slamwich
Card Game
Grade: 1
to 5
The game consists of cards that are shaped like pieces of bread
with realistic illustrations of food on them including lettuce, bacon, and hot
dogs. Players look for "double-decker" and "slamwich"
patterns as they turn over cards to a community pile. When youngsters spot a
pattern, they should slap the pile and keep all of the cards. If a player makes
a mistake when he slaps the deck, a card is taken away. There are
"thief" and "muncher" cards that add more excitement to the
game. Children will count and concentrate on patterns while they are enjoying
this game with friends.
