BY-LAWS

NAME The name of this organization shall be the Hoosier AutoCad Users Group, known hereafter as HAUG.
ARTICLE II STATEMENT OF PURPOSE HAUG shall be a non-profit educational organization whose principal objective shall be to further the effective application and integration of computer aided design/drafting (CAD). This objective will be accomplished by holding regular meetings at which various uses of AutoCad, related hardware and software will be discussed and investigated. The group will exchange information on products that interface directly with AutoCad and will keep its membership informed of upcoming events or new developments in software and hardware. The group will highlight topics of interest relating to the Indiana geography of which its main membership is derived. The group and its members agree to a policy of compliance with copyright and license agreements of software products they use and own. The group will remain independent of any commercial interest.
ARTICLE III ARTICLE III Section 1. HAUG shall have no power or authority over its members, except as outlined in Article IV -Membership. Section 2. HAUG and its officers shall not be responsible for the actions or opinions of any of its members.
ARTICLE IV ARTICLE IV Section 1. Membership shall be open to all individuals who use or are interested in the use of AutoCad for professional purposes. A person shall become a member upon payment of required annual dues as specified in Section 2. Section 2. Annual dues shall be collected to cover the expenses of a monthly meeting, newsletter, refreshments, and any other expenses of the organization. Dues will be set annually by the officers and will be collected by the treasurer. Fees shall be due at your first meeting attendance or mailing and your yearly anniversaries. The treasurer shall notify members two months in arrears, and those members whose dues are not paid within 30 days after notification shall be automatically dropped from membership in HAUG. Membership dues are set at $15.00/year for the year 1999. Section 3. Any member desiring to resign from HAUG shall submit their resignation in writing to the Secretary. The annual dues shall not be refunded to the resigning member.
ARTICLE V ARTICLE V Section 1. The officers of the HAUG will be elected annually at the July meeting and shall consist of the following:
Section 2. All officers leaving office shall become members of an Advisory Committee for the following year. The Advisory Committee's function will be to advise and assist new officers. Section 3. No member shall hold more than one office at a time. Section 4. All officers are expected to attend every scheduled meeting. If an officer fails to meet his or her responsibilities, a special election may be held and a new officer selected. A 2/3 majority vote of those members present is required to replace an officer. In the event of the resignation of an officer, the President shall appoint a replacement to fill the term. Section 5. All officers are expected to contribute to the group newsletter by submitting articles, preferably on disk. Section 6. Each officer shall notify the President if they are unable to attend or prepare for a meeting. Section 7. Each officer shall attempt to personally welcome all new guests at each meeting. Section 8. The President shall preside over meetings and shall be responsible for coordinating all of the officers' duties. Section 9. The Vice-President shall preside over meetings in the absence of the President and make arrangements for speakers/demonstrators as directed by the President. Section 10. The Secretary/Public Relations shall be responsible for new member development and notification to the newsletter editor of upcoming activities or news of the group. Section 11. The Treasurer shall be responsible for collecting and disbursing monies collected for the operation of the Group. The Treasurer shall also maintain the mailing lists for the newsletter. Section 12. The Librarian shall maintain the Group's library of drawings, programs, and publications and make them available to all members.
ARTICLE VI ARTICLE VI Section 1. Regular meetings shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month. The meetings will be held a location that will be announced and listed on the official web page. Section 2. Meetings will be conducted in the following format:
Section 3. One half of those members of HAUG, present and voting at an regularly scheduled meeting, shall constitute a quorum. Section 4. The rules contained in the current edition of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised shall govern HAUG in all cases to which they are applicable and in which they are not inconsistent with these bylaws, any special rules of order HAUG may adopt, and any statutes applicable to this organization.
ARTICLE VII ARTICLE VII Section 1. These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote, provided that the amendment has been submitted in writing to the Secretary sixty (60) days prior to the meeting, and that a quorum is present at the meeting.
