A Brian Story

It's hard to say how, when, or even why it happened, but it did.

Six months ago I was lost and trying to find myself. Little did I know I would find more then just who I was.

I was working two full tim jobs pus college. I had no time for anyone let along myself. What kept me going all those long nights and days was a simple CD. My Backstreet Boys CD.

I was studying late one Friday night. THe library actually kicked me out so they could close. It was about 10pm and I couldn't afford a car so I had to walk back to my very small apartment.

Halfway home it started to pour rain. I never checked the news for the weather so I was totally unprepared for it. I began to run, but the rain only rained harder and soon thunder and lightening started up.

I waas running along side the road when I heard a car horn beeping at me. That was all i needed to make the night worse. I moved into the grass on the side of the raod, but the car continued to beep. I finally just started walking towards my home again and pegged the car as some lonatic driver on the road. Boy was I ever so wrong.

The car pulled over and a man got out of it. I couldn't see him clearly because of it was so dark. I was frightened, but then I heard his voice.

"Miss, you could get hurt out here in this weather." He put his hand on my shoulder. "Let me drive you home."

His voice was none other then the sweet voice of Brian Littrell. A flash of lightening confirmed it when it lite up his face.

I'm not sure why, but I for some reason, I touched my hand to his face. "Brian?" I said as he took my hand. "Is that really you?"

"Yeah that's me. So will you get in my car or do I have to carry you over to it and put you in it myself?"

"But I'm all wet. I can't get your interior wet."

A huge rumble of thunder came about. "Girl, I'd rather have to deal with the interior of my car being wet then going home and seeing you on the 11 o'clock news as being injured in this storm. Now will you please get in?"

"Yeah." I Walked around to the passenger side and opened up the door and got in. When Brian got in and we started going I felt it was the time to thank him. "Thank you, Brian. It was really kind of you to pull over."

"It would have been inhumane if I hadn't. So what's your name?"

"It's Kel and you really didn't have to stop."

"As in Kelly? And yes I did have to stop."

"Yeah it's Kelly, but I go bye Kel or Kel Marie."

"Well Kel, what were you doing out so late at night without a ride?"

"I was studying at the library and I lost track of time. All the buses were already shut down for the night."

"Couldn't you call yoru parents or a friend?"

"My parents are in another state. I moved out awhile ago and my friends are all out. It's Friday night aka Party night."

"You moved out?" Ther was shock in his voice. "How old are you?"

"I'm 18."

"You look younger then that."

"Well I normally look older and more dry."

"So where can I take you? Where do you live at?"

"I live on the corner of Bakmin and Park. In the small apartment complex. I'm in number three."

"I know where that's at. Not the best part of town."

"Yes, but it's a roof over my head for the moment."

"Why don't you live at the college dorms?"

"Well over the summer you can't live at the dorms and I need year round housing."

"Wanna listen to a little music?"

"Sure."

"Any kind in particular you like?"

"I can handle just about any kind. Your choice."

Brian popped in a Boys ][][ Men CD. "Is this ok?"

"I love Boys ][][ Men. It's great."

After abiyt 5 songs we approached my apartment building. "Care if I walk you to the door? I wanna make sure you get in ok."

"I'd rather you not, but something tells me it would just be eaiser to say yes."

"Something tells me your right."

Brian and I got out of the car and walked up to my apartment. It took me a few minutes to fumble around through my book bag to find my keys. "Well there, I'm in. I guess you can go now. I wanna say thanks for everything. Your very sweet Brian Littrell."

"Why thank you. Just walk in and shut the door and I will be on my way."

I sort of laughed. He was way beyond the gentelman. I hit my light switch but nothing came on.
"Shoot! The power is out!"

"Well if you think I'm going to let you stay in a dark apartment on this horrid night your wrong." Brian pushed the door wide open and walked in. "I'm not leaving you alone."

"Brian, really, I'll be fine."

"Kel, really, I'm not leaving until this thing passes."

I was tired, wet, and cold. I was not in the mood to argue with Brian Littrell. "Fine come on in then."

I walked in and threw my keys on the table. "I will get you some dry clothes. I wear guys clothes occasionaly so you can wear them."

"Okay." Brian was trying to find his way through the place. "Awfully small."

"yeah well I don't need anything big." I tossed him a tee and some sweats. "THose should fit you. Im going to turn around while you change."

Brian laughed. "I'll do the same for you."

We got changed and sat down on the couch. He was telling me something but I was so tired I just fell asleep. I guess he held me all during the night becuase when I woke up he was stilll sitting there, but asleep.

I got myself up and decided to make some french toast and eggs. I even made some fresh orange juice and a pot of coffee. Just as I was putting the food on the table, he woke up. "Morning." I said as I poured him some juice. "Are you hungry?"

Brian focused his eyes. He now could see the inside of my apartment. His eyes noticed all of the BSB posters hanging up. He realized that the pillow he slept on last night was a Howie D BSB pillow. He noticed that in my closet I had many BSB shirts. He looked at my keys and saw a BSB key ring. Even on my fridge he saw BSB magnets. "Wow, so I take ir your a fan?"

"Yeah and now think. In all them interviews where you get asked if you have ever slept with a fan you can now say yes."

"Yeah and you can go call all your friends and tell them you didn't really dream it this time, but it really happened." Brian walked over to the table and sat down. "You didn't have to cook for me."

"And you didn't have to pick me up on last night." I sat down. "Coffee?"

"Arn'y you a little young to be drinking coffee?"

'Nope. I need something to get me up in the morning and a shower just doesn't do it for me
anymore."

"So what are you studying in college?" Brian took a bite out of his french toast. "Wow, tastes just like moms."

I laughed to myself. "Thanks. To be perfectly honest, I don't know what I am studying. I guess you can say I haven't felt it yet."

"It?"

"Yeah, that certain feeling you get inside when you know what your doing is right, taht it was meant to be."

"Wow, that's pretty deep."

"I'm a very deep person."

We finished up breakfast and I cleared away the table. "Since you cooked let me wash."

I moved Brian out of the way of the sink. "I don't think so. I'm going to wash these dishes then jump in the shower and your going to sit."

"Yes ma'am."

"Very cute." i quickly rinsed the dishes and then left them to dry. "I'm going to take a quick shower. Just make yourself at home."

Brain smiled as I walked in for my shower.

He waled around my apartment. Looking at my things I had lying around. He hit play on my CD player. We've Got It Goin' On came on. He laughed to himself and then shut it off.

He found the tv remore and decided that he would check out the sports network. As soon as the tv turned on he was that I had the Live in Concert Video playing. "Sheesh." He said to himself as he laughed.

He sat down on the couch and noticed a notebook on the endtable. He knew it was none of his business but he just had to open it.

Inside were many poems. SHort, long, and all so deep in sorrow. He was so into reading them that he didn't hear the water shut off or the bathroom door open and me walk out.

"Found something interesting, did you?"

A bit embarassed about being caught red-handed in the act, Brian jumped up and shut the notebook. "Umm...I was just...."

"It's ok." I walked over to the dryer and opened it up. "Your clothes are done."

"You dried my clothes?"

"You seem surprised." I tossed him his clothes.

"Well yeah. I mean you didn't have to."

"And you didnt have to pick me up last night either."

Brian changed his clothes and then had to go. "Kel I have a photo shoot to get to in an hour. I have to get going. Do you think we could do something later?"

I was beyond shocked. Brian Littrell wants to meet me later. Was I dreaming? No, I was awake and those beautiful blue eyes were looking at me for a positive answer.

"Umm...I get off work at 7."

"Ok, I will pick you up from work. Where do you work at?"

"I work at the bookstore across from McDonalds."

"Ok. See you tonight." Brian walked backwards out the door smiling at me.

Once the door shut and I heard him pull away I fell back against the wall. I had always had two
major dreams in life. The first was to meet he BSB and the second was to find that "it" I mentioned before. My first dream had just coome true."

The bookstore was rather slow that day. Only a few costumers here and there. I had completely lost myslef in the book Sea Swept. I love romance novels and it hit me hard in the heart. I was so involved that I didn't even hear Brian walk through the door.

He cleared his throat loud enough to gain my attention. "So do you have any books on the human anatonmy?"

I looked up and saw his big smile of laughs. I always did love his smile. "Let me finish up here and we can be on our way."

"No rush."

I closed my bok and punched out on the time clock. "So where do you wanna go?"

"Are you hungry?"

"Yeah actually I am."

"Good caz I ran into a bit of a problem."

"Problem?" I said it with a tone of fear in my voice. What could the problem be? Was it me?

"Yeah. I told Nick and AJ I was coming out this way and they insisted that we have to eat at MickeyD's."

I busted out laughing. "I think that's one problem I can handle." Brian took my hand and we walked across the street to McDonalds.

We walked into McDonald's and I immediately spotted Nick and AJ. They were both in line ordering their food. "I'll take a number four with an ice tea no lemon."

"And I'll have a Big Mac, large fries, and a large coke. What do you want Kel?"

I was a bit overwhelemed with the sensation of AJ McLean and Nick Carter standing five feet away from me, but I managed to spit out a few words. "I'll have a 6 piece nugget, a small fri, and a medium vanilla shake."

"Coming right up." The girl behind the counter said.

"Nick, AJ, this is what kept me out last night. Kel, I'm sure you know who Nick and AJ are."

"You could say that." I loodek down at my shoes to avoid eye contact caz I was a bit shy. "Nice to meet you guys."

"Nice to meet you too." Nick said.

"Yeah I mean it's not every night that Brian doesn't show back home and when he comes home the next day he is wearing the same clothes."

"You'll have to excuse AJ. He has dyed his hair one too many times and all the dye is eating away at his brain cells."

I busted up laughing.

"Here's your food, thank you, come again." The girl handed Nick the tray and walked away.

"i think I'll carry that Nick. Last time Coke ended up all over me."

"Don't tell me your still mad at me for that Brian."

I laughed to myself again as we walked to a table.

We all sat down. Brian next to me and Nick and AJ on the oppsitie side. "So Kel," AJ took a bite out of his burger and added a mouth full of fries. "tell me about yourself. I need to look out for Brian over here."

"There's not much to tell. I work. I go to school. That's about it."

"What no late night partying?"

"I work two jobs, there is no late nights for me but at work."

"Two?" Nick was shocked. "Why?"

"I have rent, college, bills, everything that likes to such up green paper."

"Wow your quite the kid."

"Kid? AJ im 18. That's clearly an adult. You call me a kid again and your gonna end up with ketchup on ur face."

"Wow, you sure are big on that."

"Yes I am Mr. Mclean."

"Mr.? Ok if you call me Mr. again you are gonna wind up with milk shake all over your shirt."

I couldn't belive i was having a conversation with AJ McLean. He was beyond funny. "Ok then we both know not to go there."

Brian put his arm around me. "So do you wanna ditch these clowns and we can go for a walk?"

I was a bit nervous that his arm was around me. had fifty million different things running through my mind. Does he like me? Is it just like or like like? Is he into me or just showing off for his friends? "Sure, A walk would be nice."

"Ok, lets go then." Brian tossed his keys to Nick. "And this time when a cute blond in a min skirt walks by turn your head not the whole car."

Brian put on a baseball hat as we left MickeyD's. "I just don't want to be mobbed by a bunch of crazed girls tonight."

"Yeah, it's gotta be rough to have every girl in the universe wanting you."

"The don't want me, they want Brian "B-rok" Littrell. If I wasn't in a band I wouldn't be chased by a lot of girls."

"Are you sure of that?"

"Come on."

"No you come on. Let's see your very funny, you have a big heart, and you've got a wonderful mind."

"And what about the oodles of money, fame, and popularity?"

"Maybe some ditzy blond with big breasts who thinks The Cather and The Rye" is about baseball would go for that, but not all girls."

"And what about Kel?"

"What about Kel?"

We turned the corner and I could tell we were headed for the hotel he was staying at. "What kind of guy does Kel go for?"

"I want a guy that is honest, has a big heart, and some sort of sense in life. He has to love kids and animals too. He has to make me laugh and hold me. But out of all those things, all I really want is for him to love me, other than that I don't care who he is."

We appraoched the front of the hotel and Brian took my hands in his. "All of that stuff really doesn't matter to you?"

Once again I found myself putting my hand on his face. "I have went my whole life without much money and I never wanted to gain more. The thing I always wanted since I was little was just to be loved and that's all I want now."

Brian brushed his hand against my cheeck. "Do you wanna come up and we can watch a movie or just talk for awhile?"

"Yeah, I'd like that."

We got into his room. For the first time in my life I was seeing how the rich lived. It looked pretty good to me. Heck It was the nicest hotel room I have ever been in. "Wow, nice room."

"Yeah, but I miss my waterbed. Can I get you something to drink?"

"Sure I'll take a coke or whatever you have."

"Coming up. Why don't you sit down. We can order a movie and watch it."

"Cool." I sat down on his couch. It was classic. It was pure silk and the color of wine. It was so soft that I felt like I was in heaven.

Brian came up and sat down next to me and handed me the coke. "Thanks."

"No problem. So what movie do you wanna see?"

"What are our choices?"

"Lets see tonights movies.....tonights movies...." He was flipping through the tv guide. "Here we go. Tonight we can see Something About Mary, Scream 2, or Titanic."

"Hmm..well...ahh what do you say? Let's be like everyone else and go with the sinking ship."

Brian laughed. "Sure I'm up to see it again." Brian got up and called downstairs and ordered the movie. He then dimmed the lights and put some popcorn in the microwave.

"Whatever happened to cooking popcorn on the stove?"

"Easy it only takes three minutes in the mic. It's a conviance issue."
The popcorn was soon done and he brought it over.

The movie started and we both were watching it and making our little side comments in between major scenes.

Before I knew it the painiting scene came in to play. I watched as Brian's eyes opened real wide. I just had to comment. "So is that something you haven't seen before?"

"Hmm.. what?"

I laughed and threw what was the rest of the popcorn at him. "Typical male."

"Oh what and your telling me that if it was the other way around and Leo was the one being painted you wouldn't be looking?"

"No, I would then be classified as the typical female."

"Why I outta.." Brian came at me with a pillow. He had me pinned down basiclly against the couch.

We both stopped laughing and I could feel that he wanted to kiss me and my lips wanted more then anything to be touching his. B

Brian brought his lips closer to mine until our lips met. He kissed me like no one else has ever. I felt as If I were riding on a shooting star off to heaven. When the kiss ended we were both a little unsure how to act.

"Umm...Kel" Brian sat up.

"Brian I ...I.."

"You? I think it was me. I should...."

"Brian do you wanna take it back?"

"Yes....no. I mean no. I don't want to, but.."

"Then no buts. I don't want to take it back and neither do you."

We finished watching the movie, mostly in silence, but we both did laugh when the ship starts to sink. No matter how tragic it is, passing the bald guy in the water three times only shows how they couldn't afford more extras because they wasted so much money on making the movie.

We both got up off the couch. "It's getting late and I have to get up early in the morning for work. I had fun tonight Brian."

"I had a great time too. Do you think maybe tomorrow we can see each other again?"

"Yeah, we can. How about you pick me up at home about seven again."

"I'll be there at 6:55." Brian leaned in and gave me another swwet long kiss goodnight. "So can I give
you a ride home?"

"No, it's ok. I think I will just call a cab."

"A cab? Baby your gonna ride in a limo. Let me call Lenny and he can take you."

"Thanks, Brian. You really are a sweetheart, you know that don't you?"

"You bring it out of me." Brian gave me one last kiss goodnight before I left his room.

The whole way home I couldn't even think that I was in a limo. I'm sure I would have been really
excited if my mind wasn't reliving that kiss over and over again.

The next day I couldn't wait for the night to begin. My best friend, Krissie, who worked with me at
the bookstore new something was up with me.

"Girl come on, who is the guy?"

"Guy? There is no guy."

"Please you look like you had the best sex of your life last night and your telling me there is no guy?"

"Look if you must know, I did spend last night with a guy, but it wasn't even a date. It was more or
less us just hanging."

"So no sex?"

"NO! Sheesh Krissie! Is your mind anywhere besides on AJ McLean running half naked through a
peach field."

"KEL!!!!! You promised you wouldn't say anything about that dream!"

I pulled Krissie off to the side because Mrs. Styomons, the nicest old lady in the world, was staring
to give us the eveil eye. "Krissie, look, we kissed. That was it. End of story."

"So when are you seeing him again and can I meet him?"

"Tonight and no. The last thing I need is for him to think I hang out with a bunch of wackos."

"Very cute, Kel. Next time you need a ride to go get the next BSB single don't be looking my way."

"Kris, you know I would hurt you if you didn't take me."

Before I knew it they day had flown bye. I was the only one left at work. My boss always intrusted me with locking the place up and making sure it was safe.

I was sweeping the floor when I heard it swing open. "Well now, don't you look like Cinderella."

"Hey Brian." He walked over and gave me a kiss. "I'm glad to see you."

"The feeling is mutual. So are you about ready to go?"

"Yep. I'm just done sweeping now. Lemme go put the broom away and we are outtie."

I put the broom away as quick as I could. I knocked over a few things doing so. Something about Brian Littrell just seemed to make my coordination decrease.

"So where are we headed tonight?"

"I wanna take you somewhere special."

"Hmm..a surprise. I love surprises."

"Good." Brian took my hand and we walked out the door.

During the car ride to where he was taking me, he didn't say much. He just sort of hummed along to the music on the radio. I was seriously wondering what was up.

Finally we stopped. I looked around and realized we stopped where he had picked me up two nights ago. "What are we doing here?"

"You'll see." Brian got out of his car and came around to my side and opened up the door for me. He took me by the hand and led me out of the car.

"Look up, just straight up and tell me what you see."

I was a bit baffled by all of this. I mean I wasn't sure what he was doing. "I see stars."

"Anything else?"

"Do you really wanna know?"

"Yes, I do."

"I see dreams. I see a million different people all across the world making a wish on one of those stars for something that they want more then anything in the world."

"Do you wanna know what I saw, just too nights ago? I saw a shooting star and I made a wish that god would bring me an angel. Someone I could share my life with." Brian turned me towards him and looked deep in my eyes. "Now I look up and I see that star and I see you." He brushed his hand against my face. "I see us." He kissed me.

"Bri.."

He put his finger over my lips. "Don't speak yet. Let me finish. In two short days I fell in love. I never thought it would happen so soon, so quickly, but it did." My heart was melting. Those words...I never heard those words before. "I love you Kelly and I want you to wait for me. Just for three more months until the tour is over. Then I want to come back and take you to Orlando with me."

He looked into my eyes. What he just said, how did I feel? My heart was thumping hard and my
palms were all sweaty. Was I in love? I felt this warm tenderness, sort of, fuzzy feeling. He was on my mind 24/7. He was in my dreams. Dreams? Was I dreaming? Had I fallen asleep and just never awoke yet? I wanted him more then anything. More then college, more then being a success. He was that it. That it I mentioned before. What else could it be? The man I love is the man I have been lusting over for years. I had to make sure I wasn't dreaming. "Pinch me."

"What?" Brian looked shocked.

"Just do it." Brian gave my arm a little pinch. "I'm not dreaming."

"What?" Brian sounded beyond confused.

"I thought that when you said those three simple words, "I Love You", that was dreaming. Nothing this good has happened to me before. I didn't even realize till now. I love you too." I got a little teary eyed and was a bit embarassed that I was crying, tears of joy, that is.

Brian wiped the tears away from my eyes. "I siad it before and I will say it again, I Love you." Brian kissed me and the world seemed to stop and we were the only two people in it.

Brian dropped me off at my apartment later that night. I took a hot bath and slept like a baby that night. I can never remember I time that I had felt happier.

The next day I went to the airport because the guys were headed to Germany to start off their tour.

Nick was the first one to spot me at the airport and he was the first I spotted. I went over to him. Soon I spotted Kevin and AJ. I didn't see Brian or Howie.

Nick introduced me to them. "Guys this is Kel, Kel this is the guys. Of course you already met the bonehead AJ."

"Nicky, its BONE not BONEHEAD!"

"And it's Nick NOT Nicky."

"Didn't your mothers ever tell you it's not pilote to fight in front of a lady?" Kevin spoke up. "Nice to meet you Kel."

"Same here Kevin. So where is Brian?"

"He and Howie went to go check in and let the airport know we are here. They should be back any minute."

Just as he said that they both came up behind me. "Hey baby." Brian said. "I'm sure you know Howie."

"Hiya Howie." I said it in such a soft voice. For some reason I was feeling all shy and out of place.

"Hi Kel. It's good to meet the girl Brian hasn't shut up about the last couple of days."

The called for the flight and we knew we had little time left. The guys took that as their cue to leave. Brian took me by the hands. "Three months is going to seem like an etirnitey without you. I'll call as many chances as I get and I'll even mail you a postcard."

"Three months is a long time, but it gives me time to get my things togehter for Orlando."

"I'm gonna miss you."

"Miss you too."

Brian kissed me. "I Love you."

"Love you too."

Brian kissed me one last time and he walked onto the gate and got on the plane. He was leaving with my heart and in return he left his with mine.

The three months that Brian seemed like an etirnity. He called me as much as he could and when he did I never loved my phone more. We only meant to talk a half hour, hour at the most, but we were always on for hours. He sent me postcards and letters from some of his stops on the tour. Even though he wasn't with me with me, he was with me.

I was waiting at the airport for his return to my home. I had a big teddy bear with me. Sure he gets 50 million teddy bears a day from his fans, but I didn't care. A teddy bear is about the sweetest softest thing in the world, next to him that is.

When I saw those gate doors open and my eyes met his, I couldn't move and I shed tears of joy. He can running over.

He swept me up in his arms and gave me his special bear hug and the sweetest kiss I ever did taste. "So did you miss me baby?"

"Yeah, I did at first, but that cute guy in bio class kept you off of my mind. So did you miss me?"

"Yeah, at first, too, but this sweet German girl with legs as long as the nile kept me distracted."

"I Love you baby."

"As do I love you."

Living in Orlando with Brian was beyond great. I had never been happier. Brian was even really happy. I had gotten close to the guys. They seemed to like me. They even sort of took me on as a little sis.I don't even need to say how many times I woke up with shaving cream in my hair. You think Nick would get bored wtih that prank after awhile.

Are six month anniversy was approaching and Brian wanted to do something special for it. A day before our anniversty Brian took me to the airport. The only clue he gave me as to where we were headed was that it had to do with water. I was thinking Venice, Italy or maybe Hawaii. Never would have I guessed where he was going to take me.

When the plane landed in the city I use to live in, I was speechless. Why has he brought me here?, I wondered.

He had a limo meet us at the aiport. He asked the driver to leave and he would take it over from there. I had a million differnet thoughts running through my head and not one seemed to fit why he had brtought me here.

We got in the car and we drove until we stopped where he had picked me up that one night. He got out of the car and came around to my side and opened up the door for me. He took my hand and led me out of the car. "Baby, I brought you here to tell you how I feel and I couldn't think of a better way to tell you how I feel in anything else then a song I wrote especailly for you."

Brian walked to the back of the limo and pulled out his guitar. He bent down on one knee as he played the guitar and he began to sing. "Meet you one cold and windy night. The rain was pouring and the thunder roaring. Not another sole was out in site. I made a wish upon a star and girl that wish came true. Caz baby now I got you. Wishin 'pon a star, trying to make a dream come true, wishing for the gift of love, asked for my angel dear. God sent you down to me. Nothing else will do. You were meant for me and baby I was meant for you. We fell in love in such a short time. Cupid must have struck us good. All the money in the world, all the power and the fame, nothing can compare to what I feel for you. So now baby love, I ask you this, do you remember our first kiss? Your lips were as sweet as wine and I had butterflies. It happened so spontaneously. Never thought it would be. God has sent me this little angel girl, and I love her dear. So I want to ask just one last thing this very special night, girl will you be my wife?"

I heard what he had said and I didn't believe it. Was I really this lucky? I wanted to be with him forever and I knew that he was the one man that was meant for me. We were each others destinies so I said the only thing I could say, "Doesn't Kel Littrell sound really cute?"

Brian took that as a yes and he swept me up off my feet in a huge hug and kiss. The rest of that night we laid on the roof of the limo looking at the stars and remembering that horrible rain and thunder storm that brought us toghether six months ago.
