I definitely think Mulder was his minute's sucker. The look on Mulder's face when Scully told him that Leonard was the killer was classic. There he is, the one usually open to extreme possibilities then when presented with one he does a double take. Occasionally one does get what one is looking for.
Patronizing!Mulder rears his ugly head again.
Mulder is pathetic! Instead of letting Scully continue with her reasonable sounding explanation as to why they were digging around the Sheriff's backyard, he just blurts out that they found out that the Sheriff used to be a dog-faced boy. To make matters worse he interrupted her to do it!
