"I am nervous; very, very
nervous". Pops candidly confessed last night at the press-com
for the movie 'LINLANG' which she top bills with Richard Gomez and Joyce
Jimenez.
It's been 10 years since she did her last movie so her apprehension is
understandable.
She does not even want to think about her next film or if she will continue
making movies.
"Not yet, not until 'LINLANG' is shown and the public will accept me."
she said.
After a 10-year absence in front of the movie cameras, Pops has changed her
imagine
from sweet to daring.

"We can't help but sigh with joy as we watched
the recent press preview of "Linlang,"
a movie that means so much to Pops Fernandez. For once in her life as an
actress,
Pops took a bold move by playing such a mature role as Myra, Richard Gomez's
jilted wife in the Viva movie. She's a revelation in the film.
The romantic scenes involving Richard and Pops were shot beautifully in a
romantic
Boracay Beach. The actors did their scenes oh- so, beautifully that one would
think
they were real. If you haven't watched a Tagalog drama movie that can move your
body
and soul, "Linlang" is one that should interest you. "

The show (the movie,
"Linlang") easily belongs to Pops Fernandez.
With 'Linlang', Fernandez proves she can play it with the best of them
in films of this sort. This could be a compliment or not depending
on one's point of view. After all, 'Linlang' does serve its primary
purpose. Audiences in the theater seemed to enjoy it. They were left
laughing-albeit in the wrong places.

MANILA-Radio DMZ concert made history by gathering 52 big names
in showbiz.
The Cuneta Astrodome must have surely seen bigger. But to have these singers
converge at the same time would be a feat difficult to duplicate.
Such was the scene when Radio DMZ celebrated its 10th anniversary with a live
concert.
Among the celebrities present that night were Donita Rose, Michael V, Gary
Valenciano,
Pops Fernandez, Rosanna Roces, the Eraserheads,
Parokya ni Edgar, the APO Hiking Society,
Jessa Zaragoza, Vina Morales, Lani Misalucha, Dessa, South Border, and many
more.
The final count resulted to an amazing total of 52 individuals and
groups
who graced the special event. This might have been enough to please the IBC
board of directors and its chairman and president Boots Anson-Roa.
The presence of these celebrities plus the possibility of winning a Honda
and dozens of minor prizes in a raffle draw, brought throngs of people
to the Cuneta Astrodome.
Viktoria and Cacai Velasquez changed the mood to sultry in a Madonna medley.
The APO and Jessa Zaragoza performed their hits. Pops
Fernandez and Chris Vilongco
sang their spot numbers. Pepe Smith, POT and Sampaguita brought back rock with
the
surprise participation of Rosanna Roces.

POPS LOSES VOICE, HOSPITALIZED
Manila, Feb. 6, 1998 - Pops
Fernandez was rushed to the hospital after
losing her voice and collapsing for fatigue while preparing for "Shine The
Concert" which is her first Valentine show without her husband Martin
Nievera.
She was so sick that she missed her own show
A.S.A.P. which resulted in
more gossip that she was merely avoiding being in the same studio with
Martin.
The couple's marital problems continue to be the
talk of the town, and
could have contributed to the brisk sales of tickets to "Shine" which
have
been sold out for days.
"Shine The Concert" was
held at the ULTRA on Feb.
7, Saturday.
