'What a Useless Waste of News Space'
This lady writer looks nice and mature but when she wrote an article
about Pops mom I questioned her reasons and motivation for it.
Pops just got her marriage annulled and expressed relief that she got it.
She was even happy about it. And this lady from 'Journal Tonight' wrote
a column header with "Pops' mom wants her daughter to reconcile with Martin."
A very misleading header and only after you read it will you get it. But
how many people do that passing the newspaper stand? So they'll have that
idea in the back of their head thinking they knew the books story just from
the cover.
What Pops mom meant in that article was what she wished 'deep in her heart'
was that 's-o-m-e-d-a-y' they reunite for the sake of their kids. Not flat
out get back together just like that. You can bet there's alot of things
she expects to see change first before she'll let her daughter go through
(the abuse?) that kind of situation again. Besides, it sounds like Pops mom
was talking to her off the record as a friend. She probably didn't think it
was an interview. And this shows us that there is that very thin line you're
got having a writer as your friend. When it is ok to print stuff about your
own friends? Personally I never liked that arrangement or system. It's like
having to be the friend of a bank teller just to withdraw my own money.
I'm really beginning to think the best thing for both of them is to say less
about their marriage and their differences. I never watch any of their
interviews they give on TV. That's probably what's fueling all this interest.
