Perhaps the most intriguing, and famous Outer Senshi of the series. The warrior and queen of the sky, she is Sailor Uranus. (Please read Michiru's Story for more details on Haruka.) She first appears as a mysterious Sailor Senshi along with Michiru. Her role in the series is always intertwined with Michiru, because of their love for each other. Never do they appear seperately. When one appears, the other one does too. These two first appear in the S series, where they were in opposition to the Inner Senshi. Their mission was to retrieve the pure hearts, to retrieve the Holy Grail, which would summon the Silent Messiah who would save thew world from total destruction. Haruka and Michiru first appeared in the S series at the Crown Game center, where they ran into Usagi and Minako. Usagi and Minako both thought that Haruka was a male, and they immediately laid their eyes on Haruka. It is actually quite amusing, to see Usagi and Minako with their love-struck eyes! *^_^* Later in that episode, it was revealed that Haruka was a female, and the Inner Senshi were shocked to look at the feminine side of Haruka. They asked Michiru if she was Haruka's girlfriend, but she denied it. It is unknwon to this day why she denied it when it was crystal clear that Haruka and Michiru were definitely an item. Haruka and Michiru stayed dedicated to their mission, and stayed loyal to the team, and to each other. At times, Haruka would get jealous of Michiru, for example: Michiru recieved flowers from a boy, and Haruka got jealous. Even if Haruka is jealous, she is VERY flirtatious. Another example would be when Haruka was flirting with Rei and her friend was jealous. Haruka also loves cars, and in the series, she races, and wins! (Yipee!) The fact that people find her really masculine gives off an interesting storyline to the series. It is quite amusing, but it faces the reality of homosexuality, and masculinity. Naoko Takeuchi does a great job telling the story, and showing the prejudices that people have toward homosexuals. For example: the car racing episode. When she won, she was harassed by the other racers, telling her to act more like a woman, who later actually tried to hunt her and Usagi down. At other times, her masculinity is often comical, especially when Usagi and Minako think she's a male, and had crushes on her. Even if she is masculine, she is a great addition to the Senshi. With her strenght, and Michiru at her side, nothig can defeat them, because their love conquers all.
