    *John "Chalker John" Tuthill born 14 February 1658, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married *Mehitable Wells. Mehitable born 26 August 1666, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of *William Wells and *Mary Youngs. John died on 21 November 1754 and Mehitable died on 26 August 1742, both in Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York. Their children were:

1.  Mary Tuthill, born April 1697, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Jonathan Horton. Jonathan born 23 Dec 1683, Southold, Suffolk Co, Long Island, New York, the son of Jonathan Horton and Bethia Wells. Mary died 04 March 1780 and Jonathan died 03 April 1768. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York (findagrave). Their children were:

     a.  Azariah Horton, b: 20 Mar 1715, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Eunice Foster. Eunice b: 23 Dec 1721, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Azariah d: 27 Mar 1777 and Eunice d: 14 Aug 1778. They are buried in the Hillside Cemetery, Madison, Morrison Co., NJ (findagrave). Children: Charlotte, Jonathan, Eunice, Foster, Azariah, Caleb, Mary, Foster, Hannah, and Azariah Horton.

     b.  Lazarus Horton, b: 14 Nov 1724, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long island, NY, married Anna Cory. Anna b: 17 Sep 1732, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of David Cory and Ruth Griffin. Lazarus d: 09 Sep 1764 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (findagrave). Anna remarried. Children: Ann, Mehitable and Jonathan Horton.

     c.  Mary Horton, b: 08 Feb 1729, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Joseph Cleveland. Joseph b: 27 Jun 1728, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Ichabod Cleveland and Hannah Moore. Mary d: 20 Dec 1805 and Joseph d: 13 Nov 1793. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (findagrave). Children: Mary, Joseph, Mehitable, Anna, Joseph, Abigail, Lazarus, and Benjamin Cleveland.

     d.  Ambrose Horton, b: 1730, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Anna Jessup. Anna b: 1732, Suffolk Co., NY, the daughter of John Jessup. Ambrose d: 03 Aug 1792 and Anne d: 25 Oct 1805. They are buried in the Baiting Hollow Cemetery, Baiting Hollow, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (findagrave). Children: William and Jonathan Horton

2.  Joshua Tuthill, born 1690, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island New York, married Hannah Reeve. Hannah born 03 July 1699, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of James Reeve and Deborah Satterlee. Joshua died 02 June 1782 and Hannah died 08 March 1764. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York (findagrave). Their children were:

     b.  James Tuthill, b: 1725, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Elizabeth Mack. Elizabeth b: 02 Apr 1734, Lyme, New London Co., CT, the daughter of James Mack and Abigail Daniels. James d: 25 Oct 1795 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Elizabeth d: 02 Mar 1823 and is buried in the Tuthill Burying Ground, Remsenburg, Suffolk Co., NY (findagrave). Children: Nancy, James, Abigail, David, John, Lydia, and Harmony Tuthill.

     c.  Samuel Tuthill, b: 1727, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Phebe Davis. Phebe b: 1731, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Sylvanius Davis and Mary Moore. Samuel d: 23 Dec 1805 and Phebe d: 10 Jan 1823. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Children: Phebe, Deborah, Rhoda, Elisha, Jesse and Charity Tuthill.

     d.  John Tuthill, b: 1728, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Sarah Wells. Sarah b: 1732, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Wells.      f.  Deborah Tuthill, b: 1736, 1725, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Elijah Terry. Elijah b: 1730, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Richard Terry and Mary Paine. Deborah d: 24 Nov 1815 and Elijah d: 25 Jun 1815. They are buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY (findagrave). 4.  Dorothy Tuthill, born 1694, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Joseph Brown. Joseph b: 1690, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the son of Walter Brown and Jane Conkling. Dorothy died 07 February 1774 and Joseph died 14 June 1751. Their children were:

     b.  Joshua Brown, b: 1716, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Experience Parshall on 19 Jun 1748, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Experience b: 1725, Suffolk Co., NY, the daughter of Joshua Parshall and Joanna Swazey.. Joshua d: 17 Mar 1797 and Experience d: 02 Jun 1793.      c.  Hannah Brown, b: 1719, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Joseph Youngs on 26 Oct 1749. Joseph b: 1721, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of Jonathan Youngs and Dorothy Brown. Hannah d: 1812 and Joseph d: 1815. Children: Joseph and Hannah Youngs.

     d.  Dorothy Brown, b: 1723, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married James Brown. James b: 1720. Dorothy d: 14 Sep 1785 and James d: 08 Sep 1775. They are buried in the Sterling Cemetery, Greenport, Suffolk Co., NY (findagrave). Children: Isabel, James, Anna and Hannah Brown.

     f.  Joseph Brown, b: 03 Oct 1733. Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Mehitable Vail. Mehitable b: 30 May 1738, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Jeremiah Vail and Elizabeth Youngs. Joseph d: 1783 and Mehetable d: 1816. Children: Elizabeth, Joseph, Benjamin, David, Nathaniel, Daniel, Isaac, Samuel, James, Charlotte, Mehitable, Joshua, Youngs, John, Hannah, George and Hannah Brown.

     g.  Bethia Brown, b: 1734, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Constant Havens. Constant b: 1734. Suffolk Co., NY, the son of Constant Havens and Abigail Howell. Constant d: 14 Sep 1797. Children: Walter, Lucretia, Abigail and Constant Havens.

     j.  Abigail Brown, b: 18 Dec 1737, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married John King on 13 Mar 1754, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. John b: 18 Dec 1727, the son of John King and Mary Corey. John was previously married. Abigail d: 1768. John remarried. Children: John, Gilbert, Rufus, Abigail, Joseph, and Mehitable King.

5.  Daniel Tuthill, born 25 February 1695, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Prudence Goldsmith. Prudence born 1703, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, the daughter of John Goldsmith and Martha Vail. Daniel died 19 October 1785 and Prudence died 03 Sep 1746. They are buried in the Jamesport Cemetery, Suffolk Co., New York (findagrave). Their children were:

     c.  Daniel Tuthill, b: 1732, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married Sarah Thurston. Sarah b: 1740, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Thurston. Daniel d: 17 Mar 1822 and Sarah d: 07 May 1780. They are buried in the Prospect Cemetery, Jamaica, Queens Co., Long Island, NY. Children: John, Daniel, Samuel, James, Sarah and Joseph Tuthill.

     d.  Mehitable Tuthill, b: 1735, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married twice. She married firstly to Samuel Reeve. Samuel b: 25 Dec 1704, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of John Reeve. Samuel d: 16 Apr 1768 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Mehitable married secondly to Robert Hempstead. Robert b: 30 Nov 1702, New London Co., CT, the son of Joshua Hempstead and Abigail Bailey. Mehitable d: 05 Jul 1791 and is buried in the Old Burying Ground, First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY. Robert d: 05 Mar 1779.      f.  James Tuthill, b: 1738, married Temperance Moore. Temperance born 09 Oct 1748, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Henry Moore and Temperance Conklin. James d: 19 Nov 1785 and Temperance d: 20 Jan 1834. They are buried in the Jamesport Cemetery, Suffolk Co., NY (findagrave). 7.  Freegift Tuthill, born 08 August 1698, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Abigail Goldsmith. Abigail born 10 August 1710, Suffolk Co., New York, the daughter of Thomas Goldsmith and Abigail Booth. Freegift died 05 September 1765 and Abigail died in 1779. They are buried in the Tuthill Family Cemetery, Hamptonburg, Orange Co., New York (findagrave). Their children were:.

     a.  Abigail Tuthill, b: 1728, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married John Wells. John b: 1715, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the son of John Wells and Martha Paine. Abigail d: 1784 and John d: 1776, both in Orange Co., NY. Children: Israel, Joshua and Abigail Tuthill.

     b.  Nathaniel Tuthill, b: 17 Jan 1730, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, married three times. He married firstly to Michal Young. Michal b: 09 Sep 1734, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of Gideon Young and Rachel Rackett. Michal d: 26 Feb 1756. Children: Michal Tuthill. Nathaniel married secondly to Margaret Herod. Margaret b: 03 Aug 1739, Brookhaven, Suffolk Co., Long Island, NY, the daughter of John Herod. Margaret d: 22 Apr 1786. Children: Esther, John, Benjamin, Mary and Nathaniel Tuthill. Nathaniel married lastly to Abigail (Hicks) Smith on 13 Jul 1788. Abigail b; 1742, NY, the daughter of John Hicks.

     c.  Joshua Tuthill, b: 21 May 1732, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Mary Conklin. Mary b: 15 Sep 1733, Suffolk Co., New York, the daughter of John Conklin and Rebecca Talmadge. Joshua d: 20 May 1796 and Mary d: 1814. Children: Mehitable, Mary, Abigail, Rebecca, Freegift, and Joshua Tuthill.

8.  Jemima Tuthill, born 1703, Southold, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York, married Isaac Chalker. Isaac born 12 December 1707, Saybrook, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, the son of Abraham Chalker and Deborah Barber. Jemima died in 1750 and Isaac died on 28 May 1765, both in Hartford Co., Connecticut. Isaac is buried in the Old Eastbury Cemetery, Glastonbury, Hartford Co., Connecticut. Their children were:

     a.  Benoni Chalker, b: 1735.

     b.  Alexander Chalker, b: , married Mary Knowles. Mary b: 01 Apr 1739, the daughter of John Knowles and Rachel Olcott. Mary d: 09 May 1766 and is buried in the Ancient Burying Ground, Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. Children: Bridget and Christopher Chalker.

     c.  Isaac Chalker, b: 01 Jun 1736, Middlesex Co., CT, married Sarah Starr. Sarah b: 01 Oct 1742, Guilford, New Haven Co., CT, the daughter of Jehosaphat Starr and Elizabeth Ruggles. Isaac d: 23 Aug 1803 and Sarah d: 12 Jul 1821. They are buried in the West Side Cemetery, Guilford, New Haven Co., CT. Children: William, Anna, Randolph, Sarah, Elizabeth, Charles and William Chalker
