How Did you Meet?
HOW DID YOU MEET?
Ok, this is just a little ol' place where I tell you (and later you tell everyone else) how you came to know these guys named Isaac, Taylor, and Zac.
It can be about the first time you heard their song on the radio and what you thought about that, the first time you saw them in concert, what made you go buy a cd,
or why you didn't get thier cd until "This Time Around" came out. Here's my story.
One day, it was a Wednesday, I was going to church for youth group. My mom and my sis were
in the car with me and we were listening to the local radio station. A song came on and it was
"Mmmbop", but i didn't know it at the time. I just thought it was like something I hadn't heard
before. I remember saying to my mom, "Wow, that song sounded really happy." and my sister said
"That song sucked." I didn't think much about it at all. It must've been about a week later when
I was in my art class and this guy was talking about that song. He said that the guys that sang
it looked like girls and had hair down to thir shoulders. I didn't get it, because at the time I
thought whoever sang it was black and I'd never seen a black person (a black guy, rather) who had hair
to his shoulders. So I thought the guy in my art class didn't know what he was talking about. I
kept hearing the song and grew to like it a bit. One day I was at a friend's house and she had a
newspaper clipping of Hanson on her door. I read it and was shocked to find out that they were three
white brothers. I had no idea. I also found out that they were YOUNG, as in my age, and that blew me
away again. Spring Break rolled around and my sister and I bought a Seventeen Magazine to keep ourselves
entertained on the way home. There was a Hanson article in it, and I read it and liked what I saw again. The day
school got out, Hanson was on Jay Leno, so I watched it. They sang some song
that I didn't know that talked about going around and around. I thought it was bad. But during the show,
one of them mentioned a website, so I signed on and tried to find it. It was pretty good timing because we'd
just gotten the internet and I was checking out any site I could find. I started going there regularly, reading
lyrics to songs and chatting and stuff. I eventually found some of the fan-sites and started going there quite often.
Finally around mid-August, I decided to buy the tape of "Middle of Nowhere" because I didn't have a cd player yet.
I remember listening to it in the parking lot of Sam's Club while my mom was shopping. I loved the tape. A few
weeks later I realized that the CD had an extra song on it, "Man From Milwaukee". So with some birthday money, I
bought myself a CD player and the "Middle Of Nowhere" CD. Ever since then, I've been a fan of Hanson.
