We all know that the Hanson family has some pretty interesting and unique names in it, but what do they mean? I'm sure you're all dying to know. And if you never really thought about it, I bet you are now! So read below and find out what your favorite Hanson names mean.
Clarke Isaac Hanson-Well, Clarke means scholar or clergyman, and Isaac means 'he who laughs'. Does this name fit Isaac? Well, he seems scholarly enough, and I guess I could see him being a preacher in 40 years, but I think the 'he who laughs' describes Isaac to a T. He is constantly laughing, whether it be at his own jokes or someone else's. Altogether, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson get an A- for picking this name.
Jordan Taylor Hanson-Jordan means 'flowing down or descending'. This comes from the river Jordan in the Bible, I'm assuming. Taylor means 'to cut' or 'tailor'. Hmm...not too sure about this one. Taylor has flowing....hair(?). Mr. and Mrs. Hanson get a C for this name. (This is just based on how the name relates to the person who holds the name. Jordan Taylor is a nice name.)
Zachary Walker Hanson-Zachary means 'remembrance of the Lord' and Walker means (I have to laugh at this) 'a cloth-thickener'. I think the first name fits Zac, since he (and his brothers) always say that their faith means a lot to them, but the cloth-thickener thing has GOT to go. Mr. and Mrs. Hanson get a B- for this name.
Jessica Grace Hanson-Jessica means 'one with wealth;gift'. I think that this fits quite well, since the Hanson's probably have some money (you can't sell millions of albums and not get some money). Grace means 'attractive; freely given love (of God)'. Now, I've never seen Jessica, but I'm sure she's a beautifly young lady, so I'll give the Hanson parents a B+ for this name.
Avery Laurel Hanson-Avery means 'ruler of elves; favor'. Umm...no comment on that one. Laurel means 'victoriously crowned with laurels'. I don't know about this one either. I'll give the Hanson parents a C- on this one. A really pretty name without much now-meaning.
Joshua Mackenzie Hanson-Joshua means 'God is my salvation' and Mackenzie means 'of the handsome man'. I like the God is my salvation one, since the Hanson's are Christians, and 'of the handsome man' sounds like Mr. Hanson was having a depressed week and wanted to be the 'handsome man' in the name Mackenzie. B.
Zoe Genevieve Hanson-First off, I love this name. Zoe means 'daughter; life'. Genevieve means 'fair; blessed; white wave'. Since Zoe is the daughter of someone, her first name makes sense, and I'm sure she'll be a fair, blessed, white wave when she grows up. Whatever that means. I'll give them another B.
Ok, now it's time for a brief overview. The average grade was about a B, I think. Of the 14 mentioned names, 6 of them are either Biblical refrences or about God, which is cool. I have to say, Mr. and Mrs. Hanson have picked some really pretty names for all of their children, regardless if they mean anything or not.
