My Monkey Island Page This is the Monkey Island page. Monkey Island is my favourite computer game, and this page will have secrets, hints, and walkthroughs for each one (god, is this going to take a long time!). |

The Secret of Monkey Island (1) This is the first game of the Monkey Island trilogy. You are a guy named Guybrush Threepwood (yeah, it's a stupid name) and you're trying to become a pirate. Guybrush falls in love with govenor Elaine Marley, but she is kidnapped by the evil ghost pirate LeChuck. You must help Guybrush travel to Monkey Island and rescue Elaine. |
Monkey Island: Lechuck's Revenge (2) In this sequal to Monkey Island, Guybrush Threepwood is searching for the fabled treasure known as "Big Whoop". While he is searching for the map, he learns that LeChuck has been revived, and was going after him in revenge. As soon as you get the whole map, LeChuck steals it, and you rush to get it back. 1 big explosion later, you meet an old aquaintance from Monkey Island 1, and find Big Whoop (sort of, see Monkey Island 3) only to confront LeChuck. Out of all 3, I think that this one was the worst. |

The Curse Of Monkey Island (3) This is different from the other Monkey Islands, because it is 3D and they actually TALK with SOUND! Another good feature about this game is that you can choose from 2 difficulty settings. Guybrush proposes to Elaine, but she is then turned into a solid gold statue by LeChuck's curse, and stolen by pirates. You must get her back and sail to Blood Island to find the cure. But a ship captain steals your map and you must sea battle your way to him and get it back the old cannon-and-sword way (best part of the game in my opinion). Once you get to Blood Island, you get more information, and eventually get the cure (after a few surprises) and use it on Elaine. However (as usual) LeChuck captures you as soon as you think you have won the game. After reversing your own curse, it's off on a roller-coaster to confront LeChuck and save Elaine (once again). |
Escape From Monkey Island (4) Well, as predicted, LucasArts announced the release of Monkey Island 4 a few months after they said that they weren't even working on it. It's supposed to be amazingly good graphics, slightly better than Monkey Island 3, it will be speech-based (he still talks with sound) like in MI3, and you will no doubt embark in some sort of quest that will undoubtably involve LeChuck coming after you with the whole 'trying to kill you' thing. LucasArts only comment was that 'you will be meeting up with a few old friends'. I will post more information when someone decides to e-mail me with some info or I find out by myself, possibly by me buying the game. |
