1992
Movie: "The Vagrant"
Character: Police Officer
Costars: Bill Paxton
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review:  2 1/2 out of 5.  "Bill Paxton is a yuppie homeowner driven out of his mind by an intrusive, repulsive derelict.  This weird, low budget flick is riddled with a black humour that turns eerie as Paxton unravels.  Not for everyone."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: Roddy says: Ironside plays the surly and suspicious cop.  The VMG Rating and Review is pretty much spot-on.

1992
Movie: "Killer Image"
Character:  Luther Kane
Costars: M. Emmet Walsh, Krista Erickson
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "Confusing film with a complete lack of continuity starts with the murder of a photographer who just happens to capture a murderer on film.  Now his brother is pursued by the psycho."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: None so far.

1992
Movie: "Guncrazy"
Character:  Mr. Kincaid
Costars: Drew Barrymore, James LeGros, Ione Skye
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "Small town bad girl Drew Barrymore's love letters to young
convict James LeGros brings him to town upon parole, whereupon the two shoot up the locals.  Growin' up sure is hard to do."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.
Your Comments:  None so far.

1992
Movie: "Cafe Romeo"
Character:  Unknown
Costars: Catherine Mary Stewart, Jonathan Crombie
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "Raised with old-world traditions that no longer apply to them, six life-long friends seek out a niche in the world as they venture from their neighbourhood coffeehouse.  Second-generation Italian-Americans are the focus of this somewhat uneven romantic comedy."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1992
Movie: "Black Ice"
Character:  Quinn
Costars:  Michael Nouri, Joanne Pacula
GMR Rating:  2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.   "When mystery woman Joanne Pacula drops by for her usual rendezvous with a married politician, things get out of hand and he dies.  Low-impact thriller."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: None so far.

1993
Movie: "Save Me"
Character: Oliver
Costars: Harry Hamlin, Lysette Anthony, Olivia Hussey
GMR Rating:  2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "Harry Hamlin strips down for some steamy sex with a mystery woman (Lysette Anthony).  Hamlin finds plenty of diversion with Anthony, whom he believes he is saving from an abusive husband, but then someone tries to kill him.  Thanks to his latest tryst, the list of suspects keeps growing."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: None so far.

1993
Movie: "Red Sun Rising"
Character: Captain Meisler
Costars: Don 'The Dragon' Wilson, Terry Farrell, Edward Albert
GMR Rating:  1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "Entertaining players rise above pedestrian material in this modest martial arts saga, starring the always appealing Don 'The Dragon' Wilson as a Japanese cop sent to the United States to extradite a criminal don and the hulking henchman who kills opponents with the legendary    'death touch'.  Mystical elements are played too broadly, but the formula still works."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.
Your Comments:  None so far.

1993
Movie: "Point of Impact"
Character: Roberto Largo
Costars:  Michael Pare, Barbara Carrera
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 2 1/2 out of 5.  "A talented cast is wasted in this humdrum cop thriller where plot exists only to fill the spaces between the energetic coupling by Michael Pare and Barbara Carrera.  He is a former U.S. customs agent, she's a crime lord's wife needing protection from parties never     adequately specified."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments:  None so far.

1993
Movie: "Mardi Gras for the Devil"
Character: Bishop
Costars: Lesley-Anne Down, Robert Davi
GMR Rating:  2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review:  2 1/2 out of 5.  "Twenty years after his father was killed, a cop finds that the murderer, who rips his victims' hearts out, is after him.  Unfortunately, the killer is the devil, who just may be unstoppable.  Don't even try to find a plot."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments:  Laura says:  A stinker.  Good cast given nothing to do but look stupid. Ironside plays the Devil - great role for him but he's barely in it and has no good lines.

1993
Movie: "Fortunes of War"
Character:  Carl Pimmler
Costars: Matt Salinger, Michael Nouri, Haing S. Ngor
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review:  3 out of 5.  "When a desperate American relief worker takes a risky
smuggling job, he doesn't realize how big a risk he's taking.  As he makes his way to the delivery point with a shipment of drugs, he learns it's not just imprisonment that's awaiting him, but also a violent death."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1993

1993
Movie: "Father Hood"
Character:  Jerry
Costars: Patrick Swayze, Sabrina Lloyd, Halle Berry
GMR Rating: 1 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review:  2 1/2 out of 5.  "A con man finds his latest big score sabotaged by the
unexpected arrival of his runaway daughter, who wants him to save his son from the same institution that brutalized her.  Not all of the movie works - especially the violent prologue in which the otherwise easygoing title character mistakenly kills an undercover cop while ripping off drug dealers - but Patrick Swayze is funny and believable in a role that seems to have been fashioned out of cardboard."
My Comments:  A family is brought together again while on the run from the law.  Standouts include Swayze (of course - the man is multi-talented) and Sabrina Lloyd, best known from TV's Sliders as his daughter, who loves her dad despite his many faults.  Ironside has a very small role as a thief friend of Swayze.
Your Comments:  None so far.

1993
Movie: "Sweet Killing"
Character: Inspector Garcia
Costars:  Anthony Higgins, F. Murray Abraham
GMR Rating: 2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: Turkey.  "A strong cast is wasted in this imbecilic mess.  A bored husband kills his wife and concocts a fictitious murderer, then meets a man claiming to be that very murderer."
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: None so far.

1993
Movie: "Free Willy"
Character:  Dial
Costars:  Lori Petty, Michael Madsen
GMR Rating:  2 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 4 out of 5.  "Family entertainment about a friendship between a troubled boy and an endangered killer whale has a true dramatic edge.  Director Simon Wincer is not one for making pap, and, true to form, he brings a substance and intelligence to this 'boy-and-his-dog' adventure.  Strong character development and a staunch avoidance of clichés make this a treat for the entire family."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.

1994
Movie: "Red Scorpion 2"
Character: Colonel West
Costars: Matt McColm, John Savage
GMR Rating: 1 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "This sequel-in-name-only, a compact retread of The Dirty Dozen, is far better than its predecessor.  Commando expert Matt McColm and plucky Jennifer Rubin lead a team of highly specialized assassins and technicians on a raid of a covert American hate group; the resulting action scenes are well handled."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.

1994
Movie: "The Killing Man"
Character: Mr. Green
Costars: Jeff Wincott, David Bolt

Movie: "The Glass Shield"
Character: Baben
Costars: Lori Petty, Ice Cube, Elliott Gould
GMR Rating: 2 1/2 out of 4.
VMG Rating and Review: 3 out of 5.  "An ambitious yet over-obvious and uninvolving look at corruption in a Southern California's sheriff's station, as seen through the conflicted, morally compromised eyes of a naive black rookie."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.

1994
Movie: "The Next Karate Kid"
Character: Dugan
Costars: Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita, Hilary Swank
GMR Rating:  2 1/2 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "The fourth film in the series is an improvement over the third, but that's not saying much.  Noriyuki 'Pat' Morita is back, but the original 'kid', Ralph Macchio, has grown up and moved on.  This time, the old master teaches martial arts and self-respect to (gasp!) a girl - and that's about the only new twist on an old formula."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.

1995
Movie: "Major Payne"
Character: Lt. Col. Stone
Costars: Damon Wayans, William Hickey
GMR Rating:  1 out of 4
VMG Rating and Review: 2 out of 5.  "Gung ho Marine is discharged by the military - 'there's no one left to kill, he's killed them all' - and takes a job training junior ROTC at a private academy in this predictable band-of-misfits comedy."
My Comments:  Haven't seen it.

1997
Movie: "Starship Troopers"
Character: Jean Rasczak
Costars: Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer

My Comments: Unbelievably bad.  Not even good enough to be considered cheezy.
Your Comments: Tracy sends these comments:  Michael plays an army officer with a cybernetic arm (apparently my male friends think that this elevates the status of his performance... cybernetic arms rate highly on their "Lo Lo Lo" scale of movie rating).  Other than that, he's basically the typical jaded bad-ass Ironside character.

1998
Movie: "Question of Privilege"
Character: Inspector Ingram
Costars: Wendy Crewson, Nick Mancuso
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: Somewhat uneven drama.  A lawyer 'coincidentally' becomes involved in a case involving the murder of a young girl.  When the teen boys being investigated start dying, things get interesting.  Michael plays the hard-boiled detective handling the case.

1998
Movie: "Ivory Tower"
Character: Marshall Wallace
Costars: Kari Wuhrer, Donna Pescow
My Comments: Haven't seen it.

1998
Movie: "Hell Cab"
Alternate Title: "Chicago Cab"
Character: Al
Costars: Gillian Anderson, Julianne Moore, Moira Harris
My Comments: Haven't seen it.
Your Comments: Linda says:  I just saw the movie "Hell Cab" (a.k.a."Chicago Cab") starring Paul Dillon (who also plays "Angelo" on NBC's "The Pretender").  "Hell Cab" is basically a character study and a look at a day in the life of a Chicago cab driver.  After watching all the strange people the guy hauls around all day, it's a wonder he doesn't blow his brains out!  John Cusack was especially scary as the "scary guy".  Unfortunately, Michael Ironside's role, as a fellow cab driver, is very brief....we're only graced with his presence for maybe 4 or 5 minutes.  Over-all, I'd give it 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.

1998
Movie: "Captive"
Character: Detective Briscoe
Costars: Erika Eleniak, Richard Grieco, Adrienne Ironside (Michael's daughter)
My Comments: Ironside's role is fairly insubstantial in this thriller about a man who is murdered on his wedding day.  The plot keeps you guessing, as the man's wife (Eleniak) is committed to a psychiatric facility where (she believes) someone is out to get her.  Adrienne Ironside does a good job as another of the hospital's patients.

1998
Movie: "Black Light"
Character: Inspector Frank Schuman
Costars: Currie Graham, Tawnee Welch
My Comments: I was looking forward to seeing more of Currie Graham (having already watched him steal the show in 'One of our Own') and was disappointed at his relatively minor role here.  Not many surprises in this one: Tahnee Welch, a blind woman, has visions of a child murderer, and Ironside is one of the few who take her seriously.  Tahnee even comes to her senses and goes after somebody better than her hubby -- guess who?

1998
Movie: "One of Our Own"
Character: Detective Jack Cooper
Costars: Currie Graham, Peta Wilson
My Comments: Well acted Canadian thriller in which Ironside and Graham attempt to unravel a conspiracy involving the military in covert arms dealing.  A pre-Nikita Peta Wilson appears as the daughter of Ironside's old army buddy.  Very well acted; Currie Graham steals the show.
