Burning Shakespeare- The Sequel?

tele.gif

As most of you know, TELEPHONE recently became the name of our project involving music! This seemed a natural choice for several reasons: collaborators changed and the focus DEFINITELY shifted. Much of what we continue to do- however- is to create response pieces. Below is the official/first ever TELEPHONE PRESS RELEASE, which will explain ALL! When finished, come visit us @ www.mp3.com/telephone to hear what we've been up to!

LOVE always,

:)

ASHES TO ASHES:
Burning Shakespeare Bids Adieu, Announces Telephone Merger

In a mass merger that AT&T as well as Qwest continue to deny, former Burning Shakespeare MC and current Telephone C.E.O. Brooke Aldridge issued the following statement: "The rumors are true. Burning Shakespeare has been temporarily retired to the spoken word circuit. Electro-pop outfit Telephone- a multimedia musical conglomerate- is slated to take it's place as of December 12th, 2002."

Telephone- aptly named for Aldridge's notorious habit of composing pop songs in response to other artists' work- connects a variety of talent as well as creative influence. Aside from the core partnership of Aldridge, Dwayne Williams (Slang Studios), Matt Freed (Domo Sound, Ryan Lee) and DJ Tony Dosen, Telephone cites Charlie Erickson (Hand Over Fist, Nymphonix, Monkeybox), Ryan Hughes (Ryan Lee) and Chuck Zwicky (Future Perfect, Prince) as primary stock holders in Telephone's forthcoming release, the Love..... EP. Asked about the contribution of former Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and music mogul David Bowie, Aldridge answered: "We- or at least I- definitely couldn't have done it without them." Reached via telephone while packing for a trip to Los Angeles to launch the Love... EP, Aldridge declined further comment. "Promo copies will be distributed and Telephone will be available for interviews starting January 14th, 2003. Thanks- see you then!"
