A police spokesman told the paper that the stabbings apparently grew out of an altercation between a few fans at a concession stand in the Arena, then quickly escalated into an all-out brawl of 40-50 people that spilled out into the venue's concourse. The United Press International reports that Miami police have already taken one man into custody and are currently searching for several other suspects believed to be involved in the incident. Last night's stabbings are the latest (and most serious) black eye for the tumultuous R. Kelly outing, which was to have featured Busta Rhymes, Foxy Brown, Nas, Deborah Cox, and Kelly Price. But things began to come unglued when Busta Rhymes withdrew from the tour prior to its launch last month in Philadelphia. Slow ticket sales then prompted Kelly's camp to pare down the number of dates for the outing, which was then sent reeling in late May and early June when Kelly Price, Foxy Brown, and Deborah Cox all dropped off the tour in quick succession. |
