Both DMX and his wife stand charged of possession of hollow-nose bullets, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. DMX also faces a charge of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose as Teaneck police believe a weapon found in the rapper's home may have been used in the Fort Lee incident. Fort Lee police, who are investigating the Copeland shooting, were unavailable for comment as of press time. After issuing a warrant for the couple's arrest on Monday, police say the rapper and his wife turned up at police headquarters on Wednesday to face the charges. During their search of DMX's home, Teaneck police also claim to have found a bulletproof vest and 14 pit bulls, 13 of which were kept in cages in the basement. The rapper maintains his innocence and was freed on $50,000 bail. DMX, who recently topped the pack of Source Hip-Hop Music Award nominees with five nods, is expected to release a new album just before Christmas. |
