Fans Storm Gates At Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes
Concert:
A near riot broke out at last night's Summer Jam hip-hop
concert at the Continental Airlines Arena in East
Rutherford, New Jersey, as some fans without tickets
rushed one of the gates in an attempt to force their way in. |
The onslaught of people prompted the venue's security to
close all the doors and gates to the concert, which featured
performances from Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Nas, and
Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest, a move that barred
some legitimate ticketholders from entering the Arena,
according to the Associated Press.
Local police were called into restore order and disperse the
crowd, and reported only minor injuries and a few arrests.
The show, which had sold-out the Continental Airline
Arena's 16,000-seat capacity, was not disrupted and went
on as scheduled.
