HOWTO IDE HDD smaller then 4,3 GB (OS/2)

At some systems you may have the problem that your HDD is not properly recognised by the OS/2 FDISK. It could show 64MB instead of the true 4.2 GB. If your hard drive is bigger then 4.3 you are better of to try HOWTO bigger then 4.3 GB (OS/2) page.

Fix:
1. Create a backup copy of the OS/2 Main Installation diskette.

2. Modify the file config.x on the Main Installation diskette as follows:

Change the BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD statement to read BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD /A:0 /I

3. Move the statement BASEDEV=IBMINT13.I13 so it comes before the BASEDEV=IBM1S506.ADD statement.

4. Create a backup copy of the OS/2 Install Disk 1.

5. Modify the config.x and config.sys files on the OS/2 Install Disk 1 as described in step #2.

Use the modified diskettes to install OS/2.
