Have you ever tried to install OS/2 on a big hard drive. You may be surprised if you
run OS/2 FDISK and discover that your 8GB HDD is somthing like 900GB. Wow!
No, OS/2 FDISK does not compress your hard drive. You wish! The way the OS/2's IDE
driver is designed it has to be able to see the whole disk. If you get some problems
to get OS/2 to see the true size of your HDD you got to update the file "ibm1s506.add"
on Disk 1 of the installation disks. You also have to edit the config.sys file and
add the line "set copyfromfloppy=1" to tell OS/2 installation to copy the files from the floppy instead
of using the older files from the CD-ROM. If you HDD is smaler then 4.3 GB and your
disk hasn't been recognised with the true size try the HOWTO smaller
then 4.3 GB (OS/2) page.
OS/2 Version 2.* or WARP3
You either can go to the OS/2 ddpak site
or download the files below.
Here is how to get the file from the IBM web server.
