Nob Hill is at the top of California Street in San Francisco. Overlooking
the bay bridge and
Alcatraz, Nob Hill would offer one of the more scenic
views around San Francisco Baybay, if it wasn't for all the fancy Hotels and mansions.
Nob Hill is one of the nicest neighborhoods in the city.
It has the finest hotels (I should get commission for saying that!),
and Beautifully sculpted houses; as well as its own Gothic Cathedral.
As an added bonus the California Cable Car
line runs up Nob Hill.
Sitting atop Nob Hill in San Francisco are two of San Francisco's most famous landmarks. Grace Cathedral and the Fairmont Hotel(pictured right). The Fairmont hotel is one of the finest hotels in San Francisco with beautiful views in all four directions. THe Fairmont has Corinthian columns on the outside along with the flags of several nations. This is the place where dignitaries stay as well as the president when he visits San Francisco (at least when past presidents visited). I've split my photos of Nob Hill into three parts, four if you count the Cable Cars. The first section is this one, The hotels and houses on Nob Hill. The next one is Grace Cathedral followed by Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, a Spanish Mission style church. Any comments, please e-mail me at |
