Nicky was born as Nicholas Allen Jones on 20th January 1969, he was nicknamed "The Wire" because of his height. He grew up in Blackwood, South Wales, he attended Oakdale Comprehensive school and was part of the nerd gang with James. He captained the Wales' Under 16 football team before going on to study political history with Richey at the University of Wales. Nicky has Gilbert's Syndrome and a dodgy back, and he has been married to his childhood sweetheart Rachel for a few years now.
Nicky plays bass with the Manics and write about half the lyrics for the band.
