of The First Rebel Alliance:

A stranger who has noticed these hobbies comes to her window one night
and makes her an offer. This offer leads to some of the events and settings
of Thicker Than Water.
At
age ten, Lexine Melisenda-Delgado learns some very interesting things about
her family from her dying grandmother. Five years later she is living with
an abusive parent and dealing with people who are out to get her. And just
when things finally start to look up, she finds herself alone on a dark
road surrounded by hungry predators.
