"Shattered Empires™ takes place on an alternate earth, starting in the equivalent of 1950. The Fourth Global Conflict came to an end thirty years ago, and the massive destruction caused has levelled almost every city on the planet. This conflict has caused the collapse of all previous civilization, and it is now up to you to decide the fate of your new country. You will choose the government and type of economy your country is to have, and direct it through the ages, building military units, developing new technologies and expanding your nation as you see fit."

Shattered Empires reminds me alot of basic strategy games where a player runs a country and tries to build up his country, while defending and attacking other players. There are no modern graphical equivelants to this game. However, some of the older computer users my remember a BBS door games that resembled this online version.

Since this game is in Beta there are a few bugs, and documentation and strategy are few and far between. However, the game is free I encourge anyone who enjoys good competitive strategy games to check out this sight and sign up for a free game.
