Noteworthy Performances |
Perhaps best loved for her
partnership with Terry Scott in Terry And June.
Played 'Mother' in the
outrageous Absolutely Fabulous. Stole every scene from
the talented Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders.
Was wonderful in the recent
film adaptation of Jude. The lead characters being played
by Christopher Eccleston and Kate Winslet.
Superb as a kleptomaniac
romantically involved with Edward Woodward in Common As
Muck.
Was the original 'Mrs White'
in the television murder mystery Cluedo.
Appeared in the classic
episode of Hancock's Half Hour - The Blood Donor.
On radio she played 'Eth' in
The Glums.
She has appeared in many
series of the radio programme News Huddlines.
Played Miss Marple on Radio 4.
Was reunited with Leslie
Phillips as husband and wife again for Agatha Christie's Marple. The
episode was 'By the Pricking of My Thumbs', which incidentally is not
actually a Miss Marple story at all!

In 2000 June published her autobiography,
"...and June Whitfield" which I thoroughly recommend.
