Appeared in the
definitive James Bond film Goldfinger as Jill Masterson. Painted gold, Shirley's
picture became one of the most powerful and memorable images in film history!
She recently published her autobiography called 'Golden Girl'.
Appeared in several British comedies
of the 50s and 60s including Sailor Beware, Doctor In The House, Doctor At
Large, Three Men In A Boat and The Naked Truth.
Appeared in the film Dentist On The
Job with fellow Carry Oners Bob Monkhouse, Kenneth Connor, Ronnie Stevens, Eric
Barker and Richard Wattis.
Played opposite Kenneth Connor, Sid
James and Esma Cannon in the spooky comedy What A Carve Up.
Was in the film The Girl Hunters in
which author Mickey Spillane played his own creation - Mike Hammer.
Managed to stay alive to the end of
the film Ten Little Indians. A remake of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were
None. The film's ending was different to that in Christie's classic novel and
was in fact based on Christie's own stage play. If it
had been a true adaptation of the novel, Shirley's character would have died!
Shirley retired from acting to be a
full time Mother in the late 60s. She was only in her 30s at the time!
