Beit Leivik: Center of Arts, Literature and Culture, House of the Association of Yiddish Writers and Journalists in Israel | home
Financial Needs
The building at 30 Dov Hoz Street that is home to Beit Leivik, is old and in need of a facelift.
Projects for the exterior can include (but not limited to):
Paint the stucco on the outside of the building
 Install new entryway lighting
 Install a welcoming sign
Freshen the entry area with plants, etc
 Replace the front door
The interior lobby of the building is drab and the furniture needs updating.
Upon entering, the spiral staircase brings you to the main floor, where much of the action happens. There are meeting rooms and library, and a space for office use.
Continuing up the staircase to the next floor is a theater. This area has excellent potential. Although the stage lighting and wiring are old, the space warrants consideration as a viable setting for performance. The stage itself is long but only about 5 feet in depth, which will necessitate a buildout as the rear of the stage is a brick wall.
There are rooms on the upper level, and of course restrooms on most of the floors.
All of this will take both money and "person-power" to return this building to the charming house it once was.
Please support this endeavor.
