This is where you'll find lists of stores
to shop in, nightclubs to party in, catalogs to peruse,
doctors and other professional resources, and any other info we can
come up with for the

Louisville Area
Clothing
Dillard's; Mall St. Matthews, Jefferson Mall.
Very TG-friendly, even in fitting rooms. Sizes
up to 24; very good for lingerie, and business outfits. Good sales.
Bacon's; Mall St. Matthews, Jefferson Mall, Shively.
About like Dillard's but better for formalwear.
Clerks blow hot and cold but generally TG-tolerant. Galleria location is
small and has no large sizes.
Lazarus; Oxmoor, Jefferson Mall.
TG-friendly generally. Good formalwear, lingerie,
good for large sizes to 24. Watch for sales, expensive otherwise.
More To Love 2, 3009 Breckenridge Ln. 485-0203.
Very friendly small shop specializing in sizes
16 and up to 32. Will order if needed, and stay open after hours for the
closeted TG who fears other customers. Be discreet and don't use fitting
rooms when GG's are using them, they don't have good curtains over them.
Will also do alterations, and stocks formalwear and accessories. Nice place!
PS Plus Sizes/Plus Savings, 4600 Shelbyville Rd, 895-2403.
Specializes in 16-32. Good casual and career
wear, not so hot for formals. Some lingerie and
accessories. Nice sales. TG-friendly staff who wear the sizes they
sell and will be honest with you.
Lane Bryant; Mall St. Matthews and Jefferson Mall.
Good for tops, sweaters, and pants/skirts.
Not too good for dresses Staff generally TG friendly.
Fashion Bug/Plus Indian Trail and Hurstbourne Ln.
About like Lane Bryant, but trendier looks.
Staff is generally young and varies in their level of surprise at TG people,
but won't make waves. Management went out of their way to tell me I was
welcome and please come back soon. Reasonable prices.
Marianne Plus, Bashford Manor.
Casual/career dresses, separates, and tops.
Better dresses than Fashion Bug or Lane Bryant. OK prices and staff.
Lerner, Oxmoor and Jefferson Mall.
Selection slim above 18, but very nice classy
styles at a decent price.
Value City, Dixie Highway and Preston Highway.
Best discount house for TG. Closeouts and
irregulars. I bought a "Cool Jazz" summer dress there for $20, and saw
the same one at Lazarus a few days later for $45. Very crowded, wild and
wooly, not for the faint of heart - the less experienced should go in drab.
Very cheap on accessories, jewelry, lingerie, sleepwear, coats. Don't plan
on using the fitting rooms, there's a line for them normally. Lose yourself
in the crowd.
