Chapter 14: Dream Lover
“I think I better get going,” I said grabbing
myself.
“I’ll see you later Nick,” I gave him a kiss on the cheek and decided to leave.
The taxi came, and I went home to find my boyfriend, my ex-boyfriend, and Leighanne all at my doorstep.
“Hi,” I said still dripping wet.
“Ashley, where have you been?” Justin and Brian both exclaimed at the same time.
AJ, Amanda, Kristin, Kev, Howie, and Claudia all cracked up.
“I was at Nick’s,” I replied. AJ and the gang raised their eyebrows.
“No, it’s not what you think, in fact I spent the entire night, well most of it waiting for Brian..” I said looking at my now blushing Brian, with an eyebrow arched.
“But, Brian before you say anything, I must clear the air..” I said to him.
“I had a wonderful time with Nick, and Justin. They have showed me, that it is okay to have fun..” I started.
“No, wait, Ashley, please don’t break up with me I love----” Brian said his eyes full of emotion.
“No, Brian you have to hear this. Spending time with Justin, was great, we have a lot in common, and spending my time with Nick showed me that I have feelings for him, but I have stronger feelings for someone else..” I said looking at Justin.
“And, what I want to tell you, that those feelings are really intense..” I paused.
I saw AJ and the gang eyes sadden. They sighed and looked at one another.
“Justin, I really love you,” I told him.
“But, there’s one guy in my life, I love even more.” I said to him. His shoulder slumped.
“Who is it?” Brian said angry and upset. “It’s someone, I’ve known for a long time, he’s always been there for me... someone I can’t imagine ever spending my life without,” I said.
“Who is it?” Brian asked again. “He’s in
the group, the Backstreet Boys, he has the greatest personality,
but he’s never around to be with me. Instead I had to spend
it with my ex boyfriends, who were really great to me, but there’s
nothing like the real thing..” I said pausing to look at
Brian. His smile widened.
“It’s you Brian. I love you, but it’s been so stressful for me. You haven’t even been around to see me!” I said.
“I love you too, Ashley. I really do!” Brian said running and picking me up.
As he gently put me back on the ground, he gave me the most sincerest kiss ever.
“I love you so much,” Brian whispered. I smiled happily.
“Aww,” the rest of the group shouted out sweetly.
“Justin, you okay?” I asked after my long embrace with Brian.
“Yeah, it’s cool, Ash.” Justin said. He gave me a hug.
“I love you too, that I do mean. Call, whenever you need anything?” Justin whispered into my ear softly. He and I had a very long hug.
“Excuse me, Justin. But I still haven’t finished kissing my woman, if you don’t mind.” Brian said. We all laughed.
“She’s all yours.” Justin said giving me a kiss before jumping into his Mercedes and speeding off, without first saying: “Be Careful, with her Brian.” he then sped off.
“I will, I promise,” he said looking directly at me.
“Okay, well, I guess I’ll be leaving.” Leighanne said.
“No, wait. I wanna talk to you for a minute. Can you guys give us a minute?” I said looking at the rest of the gang.
“Sure,” they replied leaving and heading back into the house.

“So, whose Nate?” Nick asked angrily again.
“Um, he’s nobody...” Julie replied hesitantly.
“Then, why did Ashley know him?” Nick asked sitting down.
“Julie don’t lie to me,” Nick warned.
“Nate, was a guy I met in New York. We really hit it off, so we continued to meet and write letters...” Julie mumbled looking down at the ground.
“Julie, why?” Nick asked his head in his hands.
“I thought, you would be the one for me. After Mandy, I thought you would be it..” Nick said to her. “But, I guess I was wrong.” Nick said.
“Nick, please. I know I love you now.” Julie said.
“Oh, you had to find out? I have always loved you.” Nick replied.
“What about Ashley?” Julie replied smugly.
“Ashley, was the one true person, I couldn’t get over. But she is my best friend’s girlfriend. There’s no way, that I could ever get anything started. She and I are good friends that’s it.” Nick said.
“Oh, and her wearing a skimpy bathing suit, had no lasting effect on you?” Julie asked.
“Well, yeah it did. I mean, it would have been the same way for you. If you were ever around, but now I know where you’ve been..” Nick shouted angrily to her.
“Please, Nick, I love you don’t do this..” Julie said starting to cry.
“Maybe you should have thought of that. From this moment on, we’re over Julie. I would walk you to the door, but you’re not even worth it.” Nick said and grimly walked to his room, and shut the door quietly.
Julie left the house, crying and tears streaming down her face. She vowed she would get him back.
