Chapter 4
" You and Kevin. It's unreal Marisa." Gina, Marisa's
friend, said.
"I know. I'm glad he let you guys up front."
"Yeah that was nice. Where will you be?" her other friend Nicky said.
"Right there," she said as she pointed towards the stage, "You won't be able to see me."
"Hey Marisa" Gina interrupted
"Yeah?"
"Your close to AJ."she said before she was interrupted
"And Brian." Nicky interrupted
"Yeah, and Brian, right?"
"Why?"
"Well you could help us out. We're single." Nicky said
""And ready to mingle." Gina added
"I'll try, it's all up to them."
Marisa walked to the back as the lights went down. She saw Kevin and Brian talking to each other.
"This is gonna be the best night of my life. No one will ever forget it. Especially Marisa." That was all that Marisa heard.
As usual she sat and listened. Just before they began to sing 'I'll never break your heart' a stagehand told Marisa to follow him. Before she knew it, he had led her to Kevin. Onstage. They always bring girls onstage for this song, but he never brought her. During the song he got on one knee. They always did that during it. Except she realized Kevin was the only one. Then the only guy singing was Kevin. Then there was just music. It began to play lower and lower. She looked into his eyes. She finally saw how beautiful they were.
"Baby I love you" he began, "I don't want to spend a moment without you. I want us to be together for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"
She began to look at his eyes more deeply. "Yes. I will marry you."
Kevin picked her up and held her.
"The ring isn't ready. You'll have it next week." He whispered into her ear.
"I don't care. All that matters is I've got you."
"It's specially made just for you. You will love it. I know it."
After the show everyone congratulated them.
"I'm so happy for you Kev. You deserve this." Brian said
"Yeah. I told you she was the one."
"I know."
Across the room Marisa went on and on about him.
"He's perfect. I love him so much." She beamed
"We can tell, but it happened so quick"
"Yeah, but a year isn't that fast. It is like a dream."
No one knew all of that was about to change.
